Located on 100 ft road, Indra nagar this is a delight for north Indian food !! Had been hearing a lot of good things about this place so finally visited it. Although we had to wait for about 40-45 minutes to get seated, I'm just glad we waited! The place is definitely small for the crowd it pulls. There were many people who lost their patience and went off. I'm hoping they get a bigger place so that they can accommodate more people ! One good thing is that they have valet parking. A big positive! So when parking isn't an issue you can definitely look forward to good food ! Anyways, after a good long wait, we went in. They have a very basic setup so don't expect fancy. What they lack in ambiance, they make up in food they serve ! The starters are mouth watering, melt in the mouth superbly delicious! We tried chicken achari, mutton seekh kebab and Afghani chicken and none had any similarity in terms of taste... It was delicious! The taste, the texture and the correct amount of smokiness! If I have to pick one it would be difficult but chicken achari was just too good đđ» For the mains we ordered roghan josh chicken curry and chicken Punjabi. Both were well done and had a very distinct taste. The masala was different in both and the chicken was done to perfection. Lip Smacking !! The butter naan and tandoori roti were good. We tried paneer do pyaaz and that also tasted nice. Tried the lassi - they had two options - plain and mango lassi. I'd go for mango lassi if I had to pick. We didn't order daal but hear their daal makhani is delicious. Didn't have any dessert as we were beyond full ! We took their large serving which was way too much for us ! So, coming to their prices- prices are definitely steep but the taste more than makes up for it. We were 10 people and we spent around 4k for our meal. Go for the love of North Indian cuisine especially the non vegetarian dishes! I'm definitely going...
Read moreOn friday afternoon we went for a casual team lunch..10 people. 3 people preferred vegetarian remaining ordered non-vegetarian food.
We ordered Veg platter..which has paneer tikka 3 pieces, veg kababs, soya malai Chaap, a most of it was baby corn, gobi grilled as starters.. taste was very average..only paneer n soya chaap has some taste..remaining was all red chilli powdered and some very basic marination.overall 2 out of 5 rating..
for main course we ordered Paneer butter masala and Dal makhani and bread basket.. paneer butter masala was full masala n paneerâŠthe gravy was not fresh..raw chunks of onions..no were any butter..just oily.. very disappointedâŠquantity was ok. dal makhani was better..but quantity was lesser. Breads/rotis didnt had any nan..only missi rotis..tandoori rotis, amristari kulcha.. dont order the basket..as roti get cold by the time u take your 2nd roti.
I ordered Jal jeera..total disaster..no flavor just full of masala u cant even drink it full..donât order it ever.
addition to this I ordered tandoori aloo paratha..as soon as I took it bite..found tht it was not properly cooked..atta khacha tha on corners..when I told the waiter he told your team members already ate half..which was actually cooked and the one i had was not.
I didnât argue but will not recommend this place.. being a punjabi I very well know what we have being eaten all these years and wht waste these ppl are serving.
Overall the place we were sitting, fan was not working so not comfortable to sit here without fan..waiter told it not working..and for what customer will pay if you canât prota good comfortable ambiance...

But this time I had a horrible experience here. Like always, we parked our car and entered the restaurant. Unlike always, there was a bit of waiting time (around 2-3 groups before us). We entered and told asked 2 different waiters for a table for two. They engaged with us nicely and told us they would be able seat us in around 5 mins. So we waited. And meanwhile more people came into the restaurant (around 3-4 groups). Finally, when it was our turn to be seated, another waiter (I think his name was Imran) came and took names of everyone who was waiting. He took our name in the end. I told him we were here first and the waiter who we talked to earlier also confirmed the same. It would have been the end of it if he accepted the mix up and seated us in the available table. Instead he created an ugly scene and ruined one of our favourite North Indian restaurants for us.
I don't think I will be visiting this place anytime soon. Maybe never.
Recently, Punjab Rasoi's service has gone downhill. I also have bad experience with their valet regularly. If you are looking for good North Indian food places, I suggest you try The Bangalore Dhaba in Kalyannagar instead. The food there is good too.
Old review: Best North Indian food in Bangalore. Every dish is just perfect. And the service is great too. On weekends, expect some wait time, especially if you are in a big group. But the food is definitely...
