I found Paratha Plaza only because of their very high Google rating. This was followed by very high rating on both Zomato and Swiggi. After seeing these I was convinced they are paratha innovators who are going to dethrone other established restaurants/chains. I only tried the Indira Nagar Branch that too only once. It was a dinner take away.
Coming to the point, there is no way this particular restaurant be rated this high because of what I saw in the restaurant and the quality of food I took away from there. I got pieces of metal scrubber embedded from my food halfway through my dinner. After finding a few of them, we had to abandon the whole package for fear of swallowing them without knowing, as they are not very large in size and are flexible metal wires which could feel like food unless chewed to an extreme. Also, the food we had till then was extremely spicy but not in a tasty way. Certain spicy dishes are tasty. But this wasn't so. This was just irritably spicy without any care about taste. While I was waiting to pick up the food from the restaurant, I was requested to wait in the dining hall along with other diners (kind of them), and I noticed that a lot of folks around me were really frustrated with the wait time at the restaurant; I understand this is because of the popularity and online orders, but no one would rate the service great after such an experience. In short, the great online reviews are probably rigged or created using a bunch of fake reviewers. I have nothing against these people. They were nice to me in all interactions. Only sad that one can get away with selling any kind of food as edible in India without any care about people's health or whatever. Extremely disappointed as an Indian consumer.
I'm deeply disappointed by the fact that online reviews are turning out very untrustworthy. We, the helpless Indian consumers, do not have any other safety net. Reviews are the only thing we can use to decide the quality of food and customer experience. Occasionally I get a few calls or WhatsApp messages from scamsters with offers to pay me if I give a good 5 star review for some product online and I promptly report them to the best of my ability to keep the sanctity of the review systems intact. I did not know the situation is so dire that we all are already unsuspecting victims of the fake review scam. We all pay taxes like Europeans but added load of 4th world corruption that pervades all spectrums of life and its invisible cost no one is...
Read moreI visited this place with my teammates for lunch, having heard that the food was good. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dining experience we've ever had. First, they made us wait an excessively long time just to serve masala papad. When it finally arrived, the onions were cold, clearly indicating they had been refrigerated rather than freshly cut. The taste was poor.
Our main course consisted of methi, aloo paratha, and pulka, along with aloo gobi and palak paneer curry. There was a noticeable lack of salt and spices in both the parathas and curries. Everything tasted bland. The parathas were dry, and the curries were flavorless. The palak wasn't cooked properly.
Regarding hygiene, we didn't feel confident about the cleanliness of their kitchen or the quality of their ingredients. My colleague even found a hair in the curd they served. The only item that tasted good was the pickle, likely because it wasn't prepared by them.
I would never visit this place again or recommend...
Read moreNot a very fancy restaurant, but given the prices the place is okay and parathas are of top quality.. eventually the best parathas I have had in this city, though they give the same container platter of green chutney and pickle to everyone so if somebody has sneezed on it before or spit it while talking then that might be the concern and that's the only hygiene problem I see there in the dining area otherwise the parathas are really tasty and price is also worth. Obviously I can't take my own chutney and pickle over there so forcefully I have to eat their chutney and pickle only but if they are open for suggestions then I would request them to keep a man who would himself give the chutney and pickle to everyone so that the hygiene is maintained, otherwise it is highly likely that someone would have spit over it by mistake...
