The Pump House is a Well Known Brewery in J.P. Nagar and after hearing so much buzz about their beer Cocktail's and Truly Appetizing food my mind just couldn't say no to this and hence i visited the place.
I just loved how huge and spacious The Pump House is as it has 3 floors and you get incredible view from any floor that you sit at. it's definitely one of the most happening spots fpr brewery in Bangalore hence you can surely see a lot of crowd here yet it's still so calm and good. one would expect it to be noisy but it was definitely nothing as such as it was more conforting even with the crowd here as people just come here to rewind and chill and just do their stuff and talk to their people, have fun and that's it. i loved the seating options here and definition the aesthetics of the place looks killer good.
Service was amazing, very quick and well versed. definitely very happy with the service here.
Staff Behavior was amazing. the staff here is very warm and welcoming, not to forget they are friendly and are very much helpful woth suggestions on what to order and stuff.
Food was incredible here and i would want to thank Chef Alok for serving us up with some incredibly delicious food. i loved the Muesli Chaat, yes that's right ( MUESLI CHAAT ) and the Tomato Plum Salad which surprisingly was my favourite dish in veg as it was so juicy and very much flavourful and the dish was just perfect. also do try out their Kottu Parota which is more like a fusion food and really impressive in terms of taste. the starters were good as they were well presented and really tasty and mainly were all fresh food served which gives them a brownie point. if you're a burger lover then do check out their Slider Burgers as it's a cute small burger served in like a slider but is a fusion of both. Coming to the main course, ofcourse my favorite Daal Makhni and the Butter Kulcha i had it here and the Chicken Pulav as these two were superbly done and truly rich in flavours. then finally we landed with desserts in our hands and i loved the Tiramisu, Flourless Chocolate Cake and the Mainly loved the Gajar Halwa Gulab Jamun Terrine which was specially prepared by Chef Alok for us and we just dived into this beautiful done dessert dish. so all in alll a great food experience.
Coming to the drinks, they are famous for their Beer Cocktail's and the Signature Cocktail's too. apart from that what i had for the day were non - alcoholic drinks like Cocoberry Bomb, The Pump House Special Mocktail and then lastly the Mr Mcsnickerson. each of the drinks were well blended here and flavours were totally upto the mark and the drinks here look so pretty too.

Read moreI had Heard a lot about this place & decided to visit them today. It's spread over 3 levels (ground +2), with almost 50% open, unutilized space. They have few small trees inside, which adds a nice touch. They do have an open seating space in the first floor but not very big. Most of the space is inside. They have valet parking & a parking space next door if you have a driver.
The first thing that we experienced was the somewhat careless attitude of the staff. There are quite a few people wearing Grey blazers, who I assume are the managers, but they are all in a group talking to each other rather than talk to guests who walked in. It took us almost 10 minutes to get to talk to someone to help us with a place to sit. I saw couple of guests walk out as no one was approaching them to help with their seat.. hugely disappointed on this. My experience in similar other restaurants was as soon as you talk to people at the entrance, someone is assigned & they will assist you until you are seated.
They have the digital menu, but you cannot order directly. You need to call the staff to order, which is fine but defeats the main purpose. Off course, they are not the only one who does it, maybe to ensure no confusion while billing.
I ordered for their beer flight, which had all the 6 beers they served today, Wit, Hefe, IPA, Stout, Hazy pale ale & lager. No complaints on the beers as they were pretty good. I liked the IPA, Lager & Hazy pale ale the best.
Coming to food, we ordered Papdi chat, Bengal Jalmuri, Watermelon and Apple salad with Feta and Pan braised chicken with mushroom sauce. We were not too impressed with papdi chat ( not sure how you can get it wrong). Pan braised chicken was very filling & tasty (main course).
We were served by Raj Roy, who was really good with his service & was really helpful when we wanted some help on certain food. He was very clear about the time to serve each item while ordering, which sets the expectations. However, 6-8 mnts for beer flight, 30-35 mnts for grilled items were bit too long compared to similar restaurants.
Overall, the experience was good, and it would have been better if the seating experience had been...
Read moreAs residents of South Bangalore, we were looking for a convenient spot to celebrate a special occasion without the hassle of travelling too far on a weekday evening. After much family discussion, we settled on The Pump House—and we're so glad we did.
From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the ambience and vibe. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening out. Adding to the experience, we had the pleasure of watching the IPL on a big screen, which added to the excitement.
Our culinary adventure began with a tasting session of four varieties of beer: Red IPA, Amber Ale, Belgian Wit, and Hefeweizen. Each had its own distinct character, but we ultimately fell in love with the Belgian Wit and Hefeweizen. The Belgian Wit was particularly delightful with its easy-going nature and punchy notes of orange and coriander, complemented by a creamy mouthfeel. The Hefeweizen impressed us with its subtle banana and clove flavours and a smooth, low to medium mouthfeel.
The food was the highlight of the evening. We started with the mezze platter, which featured a delicious assortment of baba ganoush, hummus, and tzatziki dip, accompanied by warm, soft pita, salad, and falafel. It was a perfect start and quickly became my personal favourite.
Next, we tried the Gai Yang (Thai grilled chicken) and the Madras curry lamb fry, served on a parotta. The lamb curry was a nostalgic treat, taking me back to Chennai with its classic masala and crispy, soft parotta.
We ended our evening with a brownie and ice cream. The brownie was everything a brownie should be—crackled on top and soft and gooey inside.
The Pump House exceeded our expectations with its fantastic food, exceptional beer, and vibrant atmosphere. It’s definitely a place we’d recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience in...
