Read moreThoms happens to be one of the best supermarkets in central bangalore. I used to come here back when I was in Ulsoor, and still do now that I’m closer, at Frazer Town.
They have almost all daily supplies and also a nice bakery which makes the best brown bread I’ve had. I was a bit disappointed that they were fully closed for a long time during the pandemic while other supermarkets functioned with lot of restrictions (which were mandated and good!). But when they did open, they started keeping assorted, hand picked vegetables which I was actually happy about since it made my life a bit easier than having to pick on my own.
They also have a MRP bar inside which sells many variety of liquor so it’s a good place to shop for wine / alcohol if you’re into drinking.
Most recently, they introduced some new freshly made items in the bakery. I tried out their angara chicken sandwich and it’s absolutely brilliant despite the higher price tag. Before this, they had some readymade sandwiches (I think they still do), which are also really good—esp. the veg one which I believe has really high quality cheese shreds, along with fresh veggies… totally worth it. Also, I’d want to add that this is one of the few stores around the area that accepts Amex cards (also sodexo I think) This is something I’ve always loved since as an amex user, I don’t find many stores...
