For folks in Bengaluru, Albert Bakery is as legendary as it could get ! I have lived in this city for more than a decade now and I don’t know why or how I did not end up going here, but I finally did visit. The place opens at around 3 pm and people start trickling in as soon as they are open which is the reason why some of the items run out well before their closing time The bakery is in the Frazer Town Area and I arrived early evening to satisfy my post lunch pre-dinner cravings. Here is how it went – Chicken Seekh Kebab – This was served piping hot, yes they microwave before serving but this was a new batch when I ordered and came in fresh. Kebab was loaded with Chicken and every bite was meaty and fulfilling. This got me going for sure ! Mutton Samosa – Ask anyone what is a must have here and this will be top of the list. They have both regular and mini Samosa’s. I wanted more of it and went with the regular one but somehow it did not click with me. I got more onion’s than mutton and it was more oily than I expected. Maybe I got the wrong one that day ! Chicken Cutlet – One more non-veg item to try and this time it was Cutlet. Again very generous on the meat with shredded chicken stuffed to max. Very satisfied with this one as well. I was told the Khova Naan is another best seller here and considering it is not something that one person can hog on, ordered it for take-away along with some Aloo Bonda’s. Both did not disappoint and did live up to the hype!...
Read moreAlbert Bakery in Bengaluru is not just a bakery—it's a delicious slice of history. Established during the British era, the bakery's name “Albert” has remained unchanged for generations, a tribute to the forefathers of the current owner who once baked breads for the British. Stepping into this place is like walking into a charming time capsule, where old-world charm meets mouthwatering delights.
They’re most famous for their iconic mini mutton samosas—tiny, crispy, flavor-packed bites that are simply irresistible. But don’t stop there. Every item here, from puffs to pastries, oozes freshness and taste, keeping regulars and newcomers coming back for more.
In a world where digital payments and AI are becoming the norm, Albert Bakery boldly stands apart. All transactions are still handled in cash. No QR codes, no apps—just the good old jingling of coins and rupee notes. But don’t worry—they do have change, and a friendly cashier ready to help!
One particularly fascinating detail is the display of workers' daily wages right at the entrance—a humble yet powerful gesture that speaks volumes about the bakery’s transparency and its commitment to the people who run the show behind the scenes.
Whether you're a nostalgic old Bengalurean or just someone looking for truly tasty treats, Albert Bakery is sure to make you feel at home. It’s a place where flavors and memories blend perfectly. Highly recommend dropping by and reliving a bit of “old Bangalore”...
