I have been eating in this place for more than 10 years now. The best South Indian restaurant in RM Nagar Main Road. The must try dishes here are Butter Masala Dosa, Kesaribath, Hyderbadi Biryani, Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Fried Rice, Mushroom Manchurian, North Indian Meals, Pav Bhajji, Sev Puri & Sandwiches. However, the quality seems to have deteriorated in the last few years(post covid). Earlier their Masala Dosa was Soo amazing, but these days it only seems to be too roasted. The North Indian dishes like Paneer Butter Masala , Kadai Paneer, Palak Paneer also seems to have reduced in the quantity served. The standard of the south indian meals has also come down. I think now they are adding too much of tasting powder and soda. The chats counter also seems to have lost it's charm. The curd in the dhai puri was sour. It would be really nice if the management makes note of this and works on bringing the old Uttam Sagar...
Read moreHad been here for a kid’s birthday party. Starting with location, this place is right opposite to D’mart. The hotel has 3+ operational floors. The ground floor is where the hustle bustle is- the Hotel. The party hall was at 3rd floor, can easily accommodate around 50 guests. The decor is good considering its a budget party hall. On to food: this was a disappointment since we were less than 35 people and the food wasn’t upto the mark. We were served the quintessential Masala dosa with chutney, peas Pulao, the inseparable trio Rice, sambar & rasam and curd rice. While i tasted Dosa and Rice & Rasam, the food was low on flavours. A novice could cook their equivalent Dosa, chutney didn’t have any zing and rasam was spiced tamarind soup. I am a big fan of my rasam being delectable but all my hopes of having good rasam was in vain. Just wondering the cook had to please just 35 odd, just 35 mate, but spoilt it...
Read moreI am living in RM Nagar for the past 30 years, and I know what an iconic restaurant uttam sagar was. It was synonymous to masala dosa and vada sambar dip. We have eaten everything on the menu here and it really hurts me to give this restaurant a negative review. This restaurant lost its charm about 3 yrs back. The last we ate here was in 2021 and today we thought to give it a benefit of doubt and visited. Dosa was so sour and badly made, I threw away half of it. Vada is just unbelievably bad. Why is it so big and thick? And what happened to the sambar? Pls I don’t know if the management has lost or let go of their chefs or changed the recipe, but pls get your act together. This is not the uttam sagar we grew up loving! I threw away half of my order. And it really hurt me too much to waste so much food. Hope the management...
