After almost 1.5 years I re visited the Shack and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality they are still maintaining. The laid back ambience, perfect to hang out and relax. The hospitality is excellent too.
We started with a few appetisers that included dragon paneer (an all time favourite there), Malai broccoli (MUST TRY), peri peri fries, veg platter and cheese balls, everything was excellent.
In drinks I tried the “Bar Man’s Special” which is a stronger version of LIIT, perfect for people who love their cocktails strong. I also love their This time around, I tried a few things from the new menu that included pizza, burgers and pastas which were quite good too. The white sauce pasta was delicious, the red sauce had more of a tomato ketchup flavour (more sweet) which I’m not a fan of. They could have added basil and more seasoning to it. Apart from that loved everything and it’s a great place to hang out
The first time I went there, they had newly opened the resto bar and I had tried a variety of their appetisers and North Indian main courses.
Old review:
My friend had tried a lot of the non veg dishes and loved the the tandoori chicken, Kalmi Kebab and tava fish fry. Apparently, the tandoori chicken was marvellous. One of the best out there.
I asked the bar manager Mr. Altaf to make my LIIT strong and he really made sure of it. It was one of the strongest I’ve had and tasted amazing. I could taste the vodka, rum and it wasn’t diluted with too much ice or coke. The cocktails and alcohol are strong and sure do pack a punch, just how they are supposed to be. If you want it extra strong, be sure to ask them and you shall receive.
In the main course we opted for half portions again since we wanted to try out as many dishes as possible. I tried the paneer makhni, south style egg curry, veg biryani along with the garlic naan. My friend tried the butter chicken, Guntur chicken and the chicken biryani with garlic naan. The egg curry was piquant and delicious. It was a Chettinad style base and tasted great with the naan. The paneer was soft, tender and coated in a rich and creamy gravy. My friend said that the non veg gravies were good too.
A special mention to Mr. Altaf (Bar Manager), Mr. Harish (Floor Manager) and Mr. Parvez...
Read moreA very comfortably themed pub with wooden and stone interiors and spacious seating arrangement. It’s on the top floor but there is no open terrace seating, but the ambiance has the classic pub design with relaxed lighting and including a snooker table which is really cool! There is good music played - not too loud - and there’s a big screen that typically plays sports. For me, the ambiance and setting was really the prize winner of this place!
The atmosphere is really relaxed and allows one to enjoy the food and drinks while having a good conversation. The staff too is very polite and the service is pretty quick! The food menu is extensive and you have the usual veg and non veg options, from soups to starters to the main course, but I don’t think there was any signature dish that deserves a callout. The food quantity is good, but the quality can surely do with some improvement. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but it’s not as great when compared to others pubs of similar setup. Whatever we had was good and tasty - definitely the peanut masala and chilly chicken were really good! The dessert options are limited though.
It’s not a brewery so they don’t have their own beers, but you get pitchers or mugs of all the major brands. They also serve pretty much every liquor.
A good place to visit with family or friends, and its value for money when compared to other similar outlets. Esp if you are coming with a group of friends, this can be a great hangout place!
PS: There is a separate smoking zone with seating and...
Read moreWith it's dim light and great ambiance, The Shack - Restopub located at Rammurthy nagar is a nice place to hangout and have some drinks and food. We recently visited this place and was completely amazed with the quality of food and hospitality they provided.
Initially we ordered Stuffed Mushroom and Golden Fried Cheese Balls. Cheese Balls were perfect with the right amount of Cheese in it. Mushrooms were well cooked. Then we had Dragon Paneer i.e kind of fried Paneer along with some Veggies like capsicum. I liked it the most. Along with that we ordered Shirley Temple mocktail which was a good one too.
Then we had Crispy Potato and Spicy Dahi Ki Tikki. Crispy Potato was awesome and was different from regular Potato Wedges. Spicy Dahi ki Tikki were nice too and good to have. Then we had Pesto Spaghetti and Tandoori Paneer Pizza. Spaghetti was cooked in white sauce and had nice flavours in it which made it a must have dish. At the end we had Shack Crispy Icecream, which was a combination of ice-cream with some flavoured syrup on top of that and served in a glass. This place offers a large variety of alcoholic drinks and beer and is a great place to visit for drinkers as well as non-drinkers. They have an absolutely separate smoking area, which makes...
