Woody's is located on commercial street, shivajinagar. A place widely known as a shopping destination in Bangalore. A place known for its crowds, especially on New year's Eve. Located on a one way street, which is crowded for most of the day and with relatively less to no parking space available, It would be better to park your vehicle somewhere else and walk here or get down at the end of the street and get here. Woody's has both air conditioned and non air conditioned sections. The non AC section is self service. The interiors are a glimpse into old Bangalore, with wooden furniture, the architecture, lighting. Seating is available in the ground floor as well as the first floor. High chairs are available in the ground floor. Variety of food is available. The menu is a bit pricey but considering the location and the quality of the food, I guess it's not so bad. Quality food, food is not too spicy, just right. Not all the fruit juice are available at all the time, some are seasonal. Expect crowd and noise, especially at the cash counter. A bit of wait for your order to be ready. Since there's only one person at cash. Cashless payment is available. Drinking water and bathrooms are available. No parking lot or structure. Service and Hygiene can be improved. Overall it's a "Bangalore" kind of experience.

Hello dear foodies how are you all...so planning for some good south Indian breakfast or lunch or a light south Indian dinner...no matter whatever your meal type/time is ..if you are at commercial street..and hungry after shopping just head to Woody's ...one among the great south Indian cuisine restaurant I liked in Bangalore...great food awesome ambience,.multi floor seating...good to go with family and friends...superb tasty food...dosa soft and less of oil served with red and green chutney along with sambhar and nariyal chutney..overall a great combination...rest other items too are great in taste ...it's a self service restaurant..excluaive restaurant.parking is not there as it is on main commercial street...so 4 wheeler you have to park at dedicated slots only....be it curd vada, crispy Mangalore bhajji , bisebele bath... everything here is of great taste..overall a great food and super experience...it's little expensive as compared to other south Indian darshini(restaurants,)...but worth a try...so next time if you are at commercial street do try Woody's...keep rocking keep eating...to know for more such places and great food experience in city...do follow me on Google local guide, Instagram, zomato and TripAdvisor..#ankurthefoodie

My visit to Woody's Restaurant was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From start to finish, the service was shockingly poor. Despite the restaurant not being particularly crowded, the waiting time was unreasonably long. To make matters worse, the staff were dismissive and outright rude. A simple request for a cup of rasam went ignored entirely—it never arrived, even after repeated reminders. The hygiene standards were equally appalling. The tables were sticky, the floors were unclean, and the overall environment felt neglected. It was hard to enjoy the meal in such an unhygienic setting. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. While it wasn’t terrible, it lacked flavor and quality, leaving nothing memorable about the dining experience. Woody’s failed on every front—service, cleanliness, and food. It’s safe to say I won’t be returning and cannot recommend it to others. A restaurant with this reputation should do much better.

Well it was the closest restaurant near commercial street and after a busy shopping day decided to have lunch with family. The decision turned out to be wrong for we had a horrible experience and had to wait over 90 minutes for north Indian thali which was not worth the amount they charges. Firstly, the restaurant was nearly full, there was a table unoccupied and when we approached we noticed it had only one chair. We brought it to the attention of the staff and requested additional chairs. It took ages and only after repeatedly requesting they provided additional seating. In fact we had to bring one ourselves from another table as it was not occupied. Our bitter experience began soon after seating, the staff do not care to take orders and they do not provide even drinking water initially, but compelling us to take bottled water which is very expensive. The tomato soup , was highly watered and did not taste, but most importantly was not hot. The starters arrived after the soup was finished. Next the north Indian thali arrived, but to our discomfort, it contained incorrect Roti, nan, and kultcha. When questioned the staff did not care to respond or exchange. The rotis were cold and rubbery, made eating very difficult. The curries were not tasty and one mixed sabzee was half cooked and tasted of raw masala. They served kesari bath as sweet dish - a very cheap practice. Well we all love food and have tasted better quality and quantity food in similar restaurant in bangalore, but this would rate as pathetic service and incorrigible behavior from staff, and utterly ridiculous quality of food which is...

We had the worst experience here with the rude and negligent behaviour of the manager and the staff. We ordered the Pathrode and having eaten it multiple times know that it can have side effects if not cooked properly. After having a couple of bites all of us started getting blisters and intense pain in the mouth like glass shards! And the manager instead of apologising or empathising was laughing saying it’s normal! NO this happens only if the Taro (Colocasia esculenta) leaves are not cooked properly. We went up again to the manager when it was getting even worse for some of my family members where their tongue started swelling and started sweating profusely. But absolutely NO REMORSE from the manager or the staff. This was a life threatening experience, would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

P.S: for people who don’t know about the side affects of having patrode: Care must be taken during preparation to ensure that the leaves are adequately cooked. Colocasia esculenta is a member of the Araceae group of plants, which are all known to contain irritating calcium oxalate crystals. Only through proper duration of steaming/cooking are they palatable. Mild side effects are described as feeling similar to “swallowing sand” or having “a mouthful of glass”, sensations which can be accompanied by nausea, side aches and potential kidney stone formation, in the...

Been here on Saturday afternoon i.e march 30, 2019 after completing shopping in commercial Street around 1.30 pm. We were about 10 and preferred AC dining hall on the first floor where table services were available, whereas it was self service on the ground floor. I lost my patience when none turned out for taking our orders even after 20 minutes after we were seated. There was only one person to take orders for more than 20 tables. He notes down the order in a note pad and keys it in the computer in one corner of the hall for onward communication to the kitchen. Added to the 🔥 there were only two persons to serve the dishes to the tables. On repeated requests he came to our table for taking orders. While we were placing the orders, he told that items such as Roti, Kulcha, Vegetable masala, South thali etc would take 25 minutes and that he would serve bisi below bath, dosa items earlier than the items of our choice. Amazing and surprising to hear such comment from this supposedly reputed restaurant. As more and more guests started arriving through the two staircase, he lost his temper, shouted at the servers, threw the pen and notepad and walked out. Our orders were noted down in confusion which resulted in delayed supply and short supply of food killing our appetize. We had to walk out with hunger and half filled stomach. I would never recommend...
