"Rangoli Metro Art Center was developed by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd after the civil and construction works of Namma Metro station at the M.G Road, Bangalore was completed. It was inaugurated on 6 May 2013 and made available for the public. the entire designated space being linear in shape posed as a design opportunity to create a long walking path, along with relief spaces such as food kiosks, information panels, art exhibitions, playgrounds etc. considering the usage by older age groups and where the art centre is located, it would not be so frequently used, however it has been well planned without multiple level changes and constant seaters placed to rest. for the differently abled, the amount of signage is less, close to none, and is something that needs to be looked upon, however considering wheelchair usage it is excellently planned and designed children's safety was also given importance in the play area and the second level with the usage of soft tiles, sandpits and railings. the presence of designated spaces for food kiosks provides opportunity to attract crowds, but in its present situation they are deserted and not utilised to their full potential, his needs to be looked into to activate the spaces . the trees providing shade cause maintenance issues due to the leaves falling, and the major dust accumulation due to the adjacent traffic are issues which need tending to and need to be addressed...
Read moreRangoli Metro Art Center (RMAC) is an entertainment-cum-art activity center. RMAC is well planned to utilize the space maximally with small gardens and pieces of art on display beside the side walk. It has an auditorium called Rangasthala. The auditorium is good for a small selected audience. I had been here for a play. The acoustics was good. Rangoli also has three art galleries. On every random visit, I have seen some artist or other being showcased in these galleries. I especially love two things in this place. One - there is a drumjam event held here one Sunday here every month. Two - there is an amazing walkway called Hoovina Haadi in the upper section of RMAC. This is a beautiful place, with lot of bougainvilleas, to walk in. At times, you may also come across some musician playing an instrument here. RMAC has a play area for kids and also hosts a lot of events such as flea markets and so on. RMAC, of course has a mandatory eating place. Although the food is not that great. There is also a cafe. This is a perfect place for art lovers, music lovers to chill out...
