A Sad Decline - Unhygienic, Overpriced, and Poor Quality
I visited Lingaraj Lassi recently, hoping to relive the nostalgic taste I once associated with this iconic Bhubaneswar spot. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of disappointing. The lassi, which used to be rich, creamy, and refreshing, now tastes bland and oddly sour. It was clear that some of the ingredients used were stale or poorly stored - definitely not what you’d expect from a place with such a strong legacy.
What shocked me even more was the state of hygiene. The area around the shop looked dirty and poorly maintained. The staff didn’t seem to be following any basic hygiene practices while preparing or serving the drinks. It really made me question the cleanliness of what I was consuming.
To add to the disappointment, the prices have gone up significantly. While I’m usually willing to pay more for quality, what you get here now doesn’t justify the cost in any way. It feels like the place is still running on its old reputation, without putting any effort into maintaining the standards that once made it popular.
Overall, it’s sad to see such a beloved spot lose its charm. Lingaraj Lassi is no longer worth the visit - poor taste, questionable hygiene, and inflated prices have completely ruined the experience. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting the quality of...
Read moreWorst lassi I have ever had. Pathetic taste and service. These are money minded people who gets away by providing poor quality lassi just because they are popular. I tried lassi after so many years and found that not only the taste has degraded drastically, but also experienced very arrogant behaviour of the staff who prepared and served us lassi. They will not treat you as their valuable customer, but a money-making machine. Coming to the taste, its below average as there was no authentic taste of lassi in it and they put some sort of acid (that to large quantity) in it which makes the taste even more difficult to appreciate. Frankly speaking, you will easily get better lassi from any less-popular lassi stalls in bbsr. When we went to their stall, there was not even a single customer (compared to earlier times some 10 years ago where there used to be hundreds of customers at the same time) which shows how unpopular they have gradually become over the years. Moral of the story - ‘both quality and customer service make a business successful in the long run, both of which Lingaraj Lassi lacks big time’. So be aware before making a visit to their...
Read moreLingeraj Lassi in Bhubaneswar is a popular spot for locals and visitors looking for a refreshing treat. Known for its authentic, thick lassi, this shop offers a variety of flavors, including classic sweet and salted versions, as well as fruit-infused lassis that are rich and creamy. The shop has gained a reputation for its high-quality ingredients, maintaining a traditional taste that stands out in the city’s growing food scene.
The prices are affordable, making it a great option for a quick, refreshing drink on a hot day. The portions are generous, and the presentation of lassi topped with malai (cream) or dry fruits adds to the indulgence. The ambiance is simple and no-frills, more focused on delivering a great product than offering a lavish dining experience.
One potential drawback is the limited seating and sometimes long waiting time during peak hours. However, the efficient service ensures that the queue moves quickly. For those looking for an authentic lassi experience in Bhubaneswar, Lingeraj Lassi offers a satisfying and delicious option that’s...
