AB's - Absolute Barbecues — Restaurant in Bihar

Today we visited the Absolute BBQ Patna facility for lunch. It was our 3rd visit to the store. In our last 2 visits (in last 6 months), we were unhappy with specific dishes, requested the staff to take care of the same but who cares.

Let me share my today's (12th Sept. 2021) experience with you.

Starters were all good. Last time when visited, mutton sheek kebabs were so damn spicy, the chicken leg piece had a stink but today all were good. The quality of Sheek Kebabs and the chicken leg piece were good and delicious. In our last visits, the rabbit meat was so delicious bit today it was damn bad. We couldn't eat the rabbit meat. I am not talking about the dish taste but the quality of meat. Today they had Biryani and Mutton kosha amongst other main course dishes. They kept the dishes far away from the main course counter. Each time we had to refill, we had to walk far from the main course counter to the other corner of the restaurant dodging the crowd. If they had placed the dishes in the appropriate space (main course counter), it would have been easier. Being Biryani lover from Kolkata. I can bet that the Biryani of any roadside eatery/ food joint in Kolkata is much much better compared to Biryani they serve in Patna store. I am not talking about any other store of Absolute BBQ. I have been to all Absolute BBQ stores in Kolkata (there are 3 stores in Kolkata) and they Biryani there is so delicious but in Patna it's eatable I must say. It's not Biryani they provide, but kind of Masala rice I would say. If you are served Biryani, it has be at least like Hyderabadi or Kolkata, Lucknowi, or Awadhi type but unfortunately it matches no one. It's just Masala rice. Today's Biryani was even bad compared to last 2 trips there. When requested the staff to give us something like a tab or any form to give our feedback, they didn't provide any. When we verbally complained about Biryani, their justification was that their guests (people from Patna and surrounding areas) like this flavour of Biryani. We had nothing more to say because they know their guests much better and we are not in a position to have an idea about the same. We wanted to give our feedback so that it reaches the management but they didn't provide any feedback form or any tab. They verbally listen to us and had their own justifications.

Note: If the owner wants to check and validate our presence, they can do the same by checking the booking name and time. We had the booking with the name 'Abhijit Gupta' at 2.30 pm for a table of 4 persons.

Overall feedback about Absolute BBQ: I am basically from Kolkata, have been staying in Patna for work since last 4 years. Till date, I along with my colleagues have visited most of big name restaurants in Patna quite many times including Absolute BBQ. Whenever I travel back to hometown, if I get time, I visit the Absolute BBQ stores in Kolkata. They provide really good food and the quality of food they provide doesn't match with the quality of food provided by Patna store. Not sure why. I have an impression that the quality of food remains same in different stores for restaurant chains, irrespective of the location but that's not true for this restaurant. When the Kolkata stores provide such quality food, why can't the Patna store? The Patna store doesn't have consistency. One day you find a dish delicious, the next day you will have complaints.

Unique thing about Absolute BBQ: The only USP/ uniqe thing about Absolute BBQ is that they provide meat of Rabbit, Emu, seafood like squid, shark, etc.

Suggestions to food lovers: You may visit Absolute BBQ but don't expect great food. It's not value for money. Starters would be good (at least I expect this) but in main course, you will not have much options. The only dish they make good in main course is the Mutton Kosha. You would get much better Biryani or Fried Rice or any other side dishes in many other good restaurants in Patna. They don't have a good variety in desserts too.

Overall experience was not so good .actually I dont know about other branches of ab's but in patna branch staff was not soo good ...and if guyz guyz I know those of u who r going their for 1st time might think that they have this better than bbq they have that better than bbq but my dear ones please donot believe on those videos ..u know what a main the biggest difference between bbq and ab's is that in bbq as of my experience u can spend a lot more time I mean never ever staff of bbq have asked me toh leave the restaurant or another guest is coming please eat fast...guyz on my first experience at ab's .I went into the restaurant after I think 10 mins they filled the grill inside our table and after 5 mins they brought kababs n starters and u know what after just 45 mins from starting our meal one of the staff told me "please sir eat fast one group is coming " i was just shocked that what rubbish r u taking man ...I ignored him and just enjoying with my friends with eating as well...another time they told us please sir eat fast a group has booked the table they r coming ...I was so embarrassed that what I had heard from youtube and what I am actually getting in the restaurant....

In my opinion if u want to actually enjoy with ur partner & friends I harshly abolish ab's u must go to barbeque nation ...as their staff level is really really excellent they never ever say u anything that may make u feel unusual they r too good in greeting us...they always please infront of us ...they r really of a kind gesture but staff of ab's r far far way behind in comparison to bbq .... That's my honest experience that I shared with u all ..

Again I am repeating if u want to really enjoy ur eating and just want to hang out and wanted to spend more time than blindly go to bbq not to ab's it will disappoint you...

It was the worst experience I ever had in a buffet. First of all as a scam you have different rates for same time dinner. Then after getting the table no starters were served for the next 25 mins & when it came the frequency was such that all of us were exhausted with such delayed service. Legit what was on the menu of the buffet had to see an ask because even when it started few items were left out. The taste of the starters was so bland lashed with garam masala only that after eating those felt like puking. Even the coal was all burnt out so there was no option for it to roast (left mushroom for roasting for 15 mins and it was still same as it was brought). Ice cream was so bad lashed with palm oil that it had lumps in it and you could feel that it was of some cheap company which came out to be true, it was some rollins or rollick. The paan icecream supposed to be so good everywhere but here you could feel it was just syrup that too in such amount that you could feel it was just vanilla with extra sugar. Earlier before in my life never had the energy to try main course in buffet like these but this time starters was so bad that had to fill my stomach with something as heavy amount was being charged (if only it could be worth it) and brought my whole family so there wasn’t even the option to go have food in home. Even the main course each item was staled and low quality. Everyone was so disappointed and disgusted with whole food quality that we knew we would have an upset stomach next day and today 3 out of 4 are suffering with acidity & loose motion.
