Ghore Baire offers a delightful dining experience that beautifully encapsulates the essence of authentic Bengali cuisine. The restaurant boasts a decent ambiance and an extensive menu, both of which contribute to a satisfying visit. I had the pleasure of savoring their well-prepared mutton dish, accompanied by delicious rice and paratha. What truly stood out, though, was their flavorful chutney, adding a unique twist to the meal. Whether you prefer à la carte or thali, Ghore Baire caters to both preferences exceptionally well. The restaurant's decor is thoughtfully designed, creating an artistic atmosphere. The presence of Rabindranath Tagore photos and other art pieces inspired by him adds a cultural touch that enhances the overall dining experience. Moreover, I must commend the excellent service provided by the attentive staff, which made us feel truly valued as diners. However, I would like to mention that the washroom facilities could be improved to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Taking all these factors into account, I would rate Ghore Baire four stars. Despite the minor concern about the washroom, the restaurant's great food, attentive service, and artistic ambiance make it a must-visit spot in Santiniketan for anyone looking to savor the flavors of authentic Bengali cuisine.

First Impression? The restaurant looked so beautiful. A curated mince of culture and art. There are two sections, one air conditioned and the other without one. ⚠️ You have to pay 10% extra to get that cold breeze! Anyways let's jump to the review. We went bonkers and ordered Thalis and since I got myself Paratha and Paneer (Since Naan and Even Phulka weren't available)! The Thalis included Aloo Posto, Plain Dal, a Mix Bhaji, and depending on your choice a Chicken, Fish or Mutton Curry, accompanied with Plain Steamed Rice. You also get a small portion on salad, a Roshogolla and chutney. Of all this, only Rice, Daal and Aloo Posto was refillable and that's weird. As for my Paneer Butter Masala and Parantha, the Paneer was supposedly the best thing served on the table that day. Little sweet and not as rich as north indian gravies. The Paratha though, was too greasy! I tried to avoid the Paratha but there wasn't any other bread available 🙂 Moreover, the food was too homely. I ain't saying Home Food isn't good, but I expect restaurant food bringing cherish on your face. Dad even said, that they have better Chicken at home😂. I guess the Veg Thali was more worthy than the non-veg one.

The restaurant is situated at a very proper location, so finding it shouldn't be a problem. There is ample space for parking cars too. The ambience is also very thoughtful. They offer a large range of eating options from bengali to chinese, both in veg and non veg. We opted for non veg thalis, one deluxe and one supreme(if I recount the names properly). The first variety came with rice(unlimited), ghee, salad, daal, posto, katla kalia, chicken, chatni and Rosogolla. The second variety had hilsa in it, so the price was naturally high. Service is quite good and the waiters are helpful. Foods tasted like those cooked in home. The katla kalia needs special mention- the fish amazingly fresh and the curry very tasty. However, I found the chicken a little undercooked and the gravy a bit bland. The hilsha gravy also smelled great. However upon noticing some blood stain in the hilsha piece, we reported and they got is exchanged it quite quickly. Overall a good experience.

Three things to consider before going: 1. Ambiance: It's amazing and very polished. Spacious and comfy. Loved the big tables and the unique bengali design of the furniture. 2. Food quality: Food quality is top notch and tastes really good. I was pretty amazed. Chicken Curry and Fish Curry are a must. They taste spectacularly good. 3. Service: This part was a bummer. Though the staff were very well mannered and courteous, they were always a little annoyingly slow. Some of the obvious items from the menu were unavailable, which was a big inconvenience. So I recommend you to ask them what's available for the day, and then plan. To conclude, I really enjoyed the taste of the food and the wonderful ambiance, though the experience was not perfect for their slack services. They managed to make up for that with their courtesy and good behavior. I rate this restaurant a 4 out of 5.

Twice I hv visited ths place. Food seems average to me. Though could not try their ala carte. Both the days tried their thali. The food preparations r just like any home cooked food, plain daal, watery chicken or fish curries. In thali, they generally have rice, ghee, alu bhaja, sobji (diff on diff days), alu posto, fish/chicken/mutton curry, chutney, rosogolla. Ala carte is also available. We tasted chingri malaikari. It hd 4 medium sized prawns, gravy bit sweeter in taste, but surely upto the mark cmpared to the thali dishes. Hopefully ala carte would be preferable choice here. On my last visit to ths place, we wr disappointed with the rosogolla they served, it turned bad and started to taste sour. We reported them, they said they wl surely check. Ambience is quite pleasant. Staff behavior is also good. Both AC and non AC dining are available. For AC, 10% extra charges.

It's a decorated restaurant located inside the Gitanjali movie hall premises. Huge parking space for food lovers. Food was tasty and spicy 🔥.Staff behaviour was not upto the mark. Invoice raised by Kuljian Corp. for outdoor food services was completely absurd or in one line tax evasion took place in my case(charged higher price than menu price and holycow for charging GST on drinking water bottle. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Outdoor seats were different more like garden chairs 😪. Restaurant does not offer all the food items in menu to customers 😓.Only selected food item is prepared as per restaurant's choice even in weekends. No electronic fan for outdoor food service. Chowmien taste best in this restaurant. Best place for family and lovebirds to hangout enjoying delicious fast food.Thank you Shantiniketan
