Read moreI recently dined at 'The Oysted', a restaurant located in Santiniketan, Bolpur, and my experience there was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant is simply wonderful. From the moment you enter, you can feel the essence of Bengali culture. The decoration and lighting are very pleasant. Regarding the quality of the food, it was like 'Ghorer Khabar'. We ordered Fish thali one day and chicken thali the other day. Yes, we visited both the days of your Santiniketan trip after having our 1st lunch there. The chicken kosha's spices and tenderness were superb. The taste and presentation of the food were incomparable. The white rice served alongside was perfectly hot and in the right amount. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They constantly ensured that we had no issues. They were also very careful while serving the food as they serve on brass. The prices at the restaurant are reasonable, matching well with the quality and quantity of the food. Overall, it is an excellent place for Bengali cuisine. I will definitely visit again in the future whenever I come to Santiniketan and recommend it to everyone I heard about visiting Santiniketan as well. I will recommend to try their veg thali. As it is more than enough and also taste wise the veg items were better than the...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I had clearly ordered vegetarian food, but to my shock, it contained non-vegetarian ingredients. As someone who strictly follows a vegetarian diet for personal and ethical reasons, this was deeply upsetting and unacceptable.

I urge the restaurant to take immediate steps to ensure proper food labeling and kitchen practices. Mistakes like this can cause emotional distress and violate religious or dietary beliefs.
I will not be returning and would advise other vegetarians to be extremely cautious when ordering from here.
This restaurant is not for...
