I recently dined at 'The Oysted', a restaurant located in Santiniketan, Bolpur, and my experience there was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant is simply wonderful. From the moment you enter, you can feel the essence of Bengali culture. The decoration and lighting are very pleasant. Regarding the quality of the food, it was like 'Ghorer Khabar'. We ordered Fish thali one day and chicken thali the other day. Yes, we visited both the days of your Santiniketan trip after having our 1st lunch there. The chicken kosha's spices and tenderness were superb. The taste and presentation of the food were incomparable. The white rice served alongside was perfectly hot and in the right amount. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They constantly ensured that we had no issues. They were also very careful while serving the food as they serve on brass. The prices at the restaurant are reasonable, matching well with the quality and quantity of the food. Overall, it is an excellent place for Bengali cuisine. I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. I had clearly ordered vegetarian food, but to my shock, it contained non-vegetarian ingredients. As someone who strictly follows a vegetarian diet for personal and ethical reasons, this was deeply upsetting and unacceptable.

Serving non-veg food in a vegetarian dish without informing the customer is not just careless — it’s disrespectful and dangerous. This shows a complete lack of responsibility and attention to customer preferences.
