The cafe's layout felt cramped, with tables too close for comfort. No privacy for a relaxed conversation.
Unlike other cafes where basics like plates and tissues are provided at your table, here, you need to fetch your own. This becomes inconvenient, especially when supplies run out and you have to notify the staff for replenishments. This system detracts from the traditional cafe experience, making me wonder if a cloud kitchen setup might be more fitting for their style of service.
The food itself was a letdown, both in quantity and taste, not justifying the high prices. We ate just out of necessity that we ordered. For those seeking value for money, I'd recommend trying the Tibb’s Frankie stall outside Cafe Totaram. A good 100-200 rupees there can satisfy your hunger, a stark contrast to the unsatisfactory experience inside the cafe for a higher price.
Cafe Totaram falls short in service, food quality, and value for money. I don’t know how and why people are still visiting that uncomfortable cafe. It might be worth considering alternatives if you're...
Read moreFood tastes so ordinary. What we cook at home tastes better. For the price they charge, they are supposed to make something different. They can't serve home cooked Maggie for Rs 280 in the name of ramen bowl. When they mention ramen bowl in the menu, we expect something atleast similar to ramen, not a tiny bowl of maggie with a few sauted veggies. Even that wasn't sauted properly. It was just tossed in plenty of tomato ketchup and made so tangy. Their malai garlic paneer tikka had no traces of garlic. It was so bland that I couldn't taste anything other than paneer. The wash area is another big joke. We need to go hunting for it. But the price they charge is something of high class fine dine restaurants. To be honest, it was like a tiny outlet to boast their family history and nothing to do with serving quality food. We paid so much just to sit and read their family story. They can convert it to a museum instead. If you still want to visit this place, prepare yourself mentally to wait for 45 minutes minimum to have a cup of maggie in the...
Read moreOverall- A solid 3.5 stars The smoothie is really good and worth the money! The crispy Pizza sandwich is a new concept and I really really like the taste of it along with the tandoori Mayo. The pizza also had some good veggie options I have not seen many restaurants adding zucchini and baby corn BUT I ordered the mini for pizza and it's definitely really really small even smaller than Domino's Pizza Mania. The small portion size definitely makes the food items a little over sized specially in some cases. I paid 600 rupees for 2 mini food items and one smoothie. I can ignore the price of the mini pita sandwich for the taste but if they want to attract more customers, they should definitely look into cost-cutting. Prices are high-end and portions are small.
Ambience is pretty cool! The story about Totaram ji felt very personal and reflective! Definitely something different and new in Coimbatore. When I added pictures on my Insta story, people asked if I...
