Me and my partner booked ourselves for a 3 night stay here from the 26th to 29th (we left at 4.30 am on the 29th). No welcome drink served. The welcome drink was kept behind the reception and was not offered at all.
Staff at the reception is poorly trained and informed. Their command over the english language is poor. They have no tie-ups with local cab services, the staff isn't aware of the Taj Magazine which is a yearly edition and is available on the website, they are extremely reluctant to assist guests and that is very evident in their facial expressions as well as their words.
Simple things such as billing is not done correctly. Since we were to check out early morning on the 29th, we requested to settle the bill on 28th night. Staff at the reception kept telling us to do it the next day before leaving but we didn't wanna take the risk as cabs aren't easy to get in the city especially in the early morning hours. We insisted that we wanna close billing on 28th night which the staff reluctantly went ahead with and didn't do the complete billing which we then had to settle early morning when we were already struggling with booking a vehicle to leave.
Food served at the bar called Tease was way too salty and the fish was rubbery which we had to return as the food was not palatable at all.
Anything we needed in the room was done only after multiple reminders or not done at all. Simple things like room slippers were not stocked in the room. These are basic things which need to be checked and stocked before guests arrive into the room.
No special attention given to Epicure members. What sense does it make to have a Taj membership in that case?
The water at the hotel is hard water which left our hair and skin feeling unclean and dry.
Breakfast buffet - refills were not being done even after requests being made and the butter was spoilt. I opened 4 satchets of the butter and they were all bad.
To top it all, of the 3 lifts 1 was not working at all and it wasn't repaired during our 3 nights of stay, of the 2 that were working, we got stuck in one of them on the day we were checking out.
This has been one of our worst experiences with the Taj Hotels. We have stayed at many of the Taj properties and the staff has been really good and supportive and we have enjoyed the experience of being at the Taj. Let’s admit—managers rarely get the standing ovation they deserve. But Mr. Sharma’s calm leadership and approachable presence were unmistakable. The joyful energy surrounding each table was no accident—it was the result of a spirited and impeccably coordinated team, clearly inspired by his guidance and clarity.||From valet and housekeeping to in-room dining and every thoughtful touch throughout the hotel, your entire team was consistently attentive and kind. On our first visit, despite arriving late in the evening, we were greeted with the utmost professionalism and warmth. The manager on duty personally escorted us to our room, setting the tone for a remarkable stay.The hotel boasts an impressive and spacious lobby, complemented by efficient valet parking services. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, featuring modern amenities and ample space that cater to the needs of families and individual travelers alike.
One of the standout aspects of our stay was the dining experience. The breakfast spread was extensive and delicious, offering a wide variety of options to suit every palate. We also dined at the rooftop poolside restaurant and the Chinese specialty restaurant, and the quality of food and service exceeded our expectations on both occasions.
Having had a less favorable experience at another Taj property in the past, I was delighted to see Vivanta Coimbatore upholding the brand’s legacy with distinction. This high level of guest satisfaction is a testament to the leadership of the enthusiastic and dedicated General Manager, Mr. Peter Nirmal. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail have clearly inspired the entire team to deliver an outstanding guest experience. Our family, including the kids, thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The facilities, services, and personal care provided by the team not only met but exceeded our expectations.
