Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at the renowned Shangri-La Plus in Chandigarh, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary experience. The restaurant, known for its impeccable service and exquisite cuisine, left a lasting impression on my taste buds. Allow me to take you on a gastronomic journey as I share my food review of this remarkable establishment.
Ambience: Upon entering Shangri-La Plus, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambience. The restaurant boasts a modern and sophisticated interior, tastefully decorated with elegant furnishings. Soft lighting and comfortable seating arrangements create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a memorable dining experience.
Service: The service at Shangri-La Plus is nothing short of exceptional. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and displayed a genuine passion for providing a first-class dining experience. They were prompt in taking orders, offering recommendations, and ensuring all our needs were met throughout the evening. The level of professionalism and hospitality truly added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Cuisine: Let's move on to the star of the show—the cuisine. Shangri-La Plus offers a diverse menu that combines traditional Indian flavors with innovative culinary techniques. Each dish is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a symphony of flavors that tantalize the taste buds.
Appetizers: We started our culinary journey with an assortment of appetizers. The Tandoori Platter was a true delight, featuring succulent kebabs, perfectly grilled to retain their juiciness. The flavors were well-balanced, and the marinades were infused with aromatic spices that elevated the overall experience.
Main Course: For the main course, we opted for a variety of dishes representing different regions of India. The Butter Chicken was a highlight, with its rich and creamy tomato-based gravy that paired beautifully with the tender chicken. The Dum Biryani was fragrant and flavorful, with each grain of rice cooked to perfection and infused with a medley of spices. The vegetarian options, such as Palak Paneer and Dal Makhani, were equally impressive, showcasing the chef's expertise in creating delectable vegetarian fare.
Desserts: No meal is complete without a sweet ending, and Shangri-La Plus did not disappoint. The desserts were a work of art, both visually stunning and delicious. The Gulab Jamun, a classic Indian sweet, was soft, spongy, and soaked in a sweet syrup, leaving a lingering sweetness on the palate. The Mango Panna Cotta was a refreshing twist on a traditional Italian dessert, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill.
Conclusion: In conclusion, my dining experience at Shangri-La Plus in Chandigarh was truly exceptional. The combination of impeccable service, elegant ambience, and outstanding cuisine made for an unforgettable evening. Whether you're a fan of classic Indian dishes or seeking innovative culinary creations, Shangri-La Plus is a must-visit destination that will leave you craving more. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience...
Read moreThe restaurant has terrible hospitality. The manager is the watchman. Doing absolutely nothing regarding the problems we were facing. The waiter was being rude to us, thinking of us as his relatives. He had absolutely no morales for the customers he was serving. He was treating us like we weren't the ones paying the bill, but begging for food. The waiter when asked for the soup spoons directly said that none are available, eat with the other ones. And when asked to get another waiter said that this is no way of talking (even though I was talking respectfully) and threatened us that no-one would take our order and we would just sit like this begging for them to finally take our order. And this actually happened. None came to take our order for more than 30 mins. And it was near the closing time. Tbvh, I have never felt like this during my previous visits. No other waiter at the restaurant has ever talked to me or my family the way that guy did. He literally made a scene in front of everyone. I went to talk to the manager of the place and he said that he would himself look into the matter but ig because of the shortage of the staff they prefered disrespecting their customers that talked about the same to their waiter. I am so no okay with the way it went. I do not require any apology or anything, I just want them to realise their mistake and work towards their attitude while taking to their customers. We aren't not paying for what we eat, so disrespect is the last thing I accept from them.

Read moreI went to this Restaurant on 13 Feb 2021 after checking the review on Google and Zomato. Here is my experience -
The restaurant is spacious and has 2 floors. Food review which I ordered 2.a. Chicken lollipop - Taste wise okay. But the lollipop was not tossed in sauce, sauce was given seperately. Weird!! 2.b. Crispy baby corn sesame seeds - Horrible taste. 2.c. American chop Suey - I have had this dish in different places accross India. The dish is supposed to be a combined taste of sweet, sour and salty. But the one that was served in this restaurant was only sweet. The good thing was, I did not ordered any dessert.:-P. Chicken pieces were less in quantity. 2.d. Chicken chowmin - It was okay in taste. 2.e. Mongolian chicken - Taste wise below okay, but it the entire dish was submerged in oil. 2.f. A common issue which was present in all the dish was, the quantity of oil they served alongwith the dish. The restaurant seems to use too much of oil for preparation.
The next point is the service. Very ill mannered and less knowledgeable waiter who knew almost nothing about how to serve, what food is being prepared. Not sure why the restaurant hired this guy. The guy brought the main course and starter at the same time. After complaining, he said that there is no option and we have to eat like that only. Upon complaining to the manager, the issue was sorted out.
There are other Chinese restaurant as well in Chandigarh. If you are going for Chinese food, please don't visit this restaurant. You will end up spending for nothing.
