Recently we stayed here for one night as we were transiting through Chandigarh for the second time in 5 months. We took the so-called Premier room, which is supposed to be the best room category in KC, which turned out to be very disappointing. The only thing good about this place is the location.
The room floor had an ugly-looking patch of the broken floor towards the window. Every time you pass that place, you feel like you are stepping into a ditch. The hand towel left in the bathroom was a used one, was dirty, was stinking, and had some yellow patches (perhaps food color). Instead of discarding such a used, dirty towel, they place it in the Premier room.
In May 2025, when we stayed for a couple of days, we had the problem of not getting the running hot water for the shower. Every time when we complained, they would send someone to check the room. When the whole water heating system does not function, what is there to check the water flow in the room? Again this time we had the same issue in another Premier room. absolutely no hot water. From 5 am in the morning, we wasted 2 hours to find how to get hot water. When I complained, as usual, they sent a housekeeping person who opened the tap and waited for 10 minutes to get a lukewarm flow, which only provided very cold water to the shower. This hot water issue must be their permanent feature...since May, they have not even bothered to fix this issue. Imagine if you were staying during a winter time !
The next morning we had to check out and had invited our close friends for breakfast. I cleared our stay bill and informed the front desk that after breakfast, I will clear our guest's breakfast bill. The buffet breakfast was an absolutely pathetic display of food. It was disheartening to see horrible-looking, extremely hard masala idlis, which might have been prepared several hours before the breakfast time. Even the roadside idli guy will give fresh and hot idlis. Then the next item was Paratas. They had just 1 1/2 onion parathas - they were not looking good, and perhaps they were left over from previous dinner preparations. I requested for fresh paratas & idlis to be made for our breakfast. Since the paratas had onion, my wife requested aloo parata, which they said they can't make. Then she asked for plain paratha, which came after a long wait, and it was like a well-roasted papad. Other than pickle, there was nothing to go with parathas. Imagine all these happening at 8:30 am at the peak breakfast time.
Finally towards the end, the restaurant manager came upt to our table and demanded money for the guests' breakfast. He came twice to ask for the room number if not to pay for the additional breakfast. In spite of telling them in advance, they created an unpleasant situation where our guests wanted to make the payment. They are more interested in making money by supplying rotten food as free breakfast. This breakfast is not even worth Rs. 50/-, whereas they charged Rs. 350/- per extra breakfast. Paying is not an issue, but you must provide good quality and fresh breakfast early in the morning! Very, very disappointing and the hotel does not care !
Finally, what is surprising is that I wrote to the front office manager and his assistant separately about all these issues. They have not even bothered to respond to me. I reminded them that if they have seen my messages and it's past 2 days, they have not even bothered to reply.
This property is in a good location, but since May this year what we have seen now is degradation of the quality of room amenities and the poor quality of food!. This is not worth the money you pay for this hotel! I will not recommend this to anyone after my second stay...
Read moreWorst experience for savouries today .I asked fresh samosas for my family and they gave me cold and fried yesterday not even the morning made. When i asked why is this cold the staff showed tantrums, the cook said he is not going to reheat and asked me to do it myself because these not so good and unhealthy samosas are not supposed to be reheated ,as they already on heater. Moreover even the heater was also not switched on they asked me to touch the cachori which they clame to be hot but was actually cold . I am really insulted ,earlier i was a fan this chain but now after today’s incident i , my family ,and friends have decided not to buy anything from any store of gopals because of shear negative attitude of the staff and management, with growing fame of the chain management has lost their grip on food quality and staff hospitality. They should respect choice of customers. If things keep on going the same ,if staff keeps on throwing and asking customers to such things by themselves, then i think the firm might lose the fame easily .Wake management and owner atleast teach your staff to be hardworking and...

After a 26hr drive from Manali due to the floods we arrived in Chandigarh and decided to stay at KC Residency. The location was nice and the rooms were decent in included breakfast that was below average. At the time of check-in we mentioned the reception that we will checkout at 12pm that the usual time but will need some locker space for our luggage for at least 1hr as our flights had delayed to which he agreed at the time of check in. But during check out the manager on the floor saw the luggage and refused to have it kept at the hotel and didnt even allow is to sit in lobby area. He was EXTREAMLY RUDE, like his work was done so he wanted to simply throw us out. When we asked his name he refused to tell us his name also. I am a travel agent my self and a well traveled one but this is the first time I had an experience with such a rude staff. The hotel really needs to recheck on their staff behavior or else business is definitely going to go down if they keep having such arrogant floor managers. I did take his picture, but i do not want to publicly...
