Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype or the Price
I had a very disappointing experience at Almin Restaurant after ordering their so-called "Mutton Platter." The platter included two mutton gravies and was mutton biryani. However, the biryani was nothing but regular chicken biryani with a single piece of mutton qorma added to it clearly misleading and unacceptable. When I questioned the staff, they casually responded that they don’t actually serve mutton biryani and simply add a piece of mutton qorma to chicken biryani and call it a day.
To make matters worse, the two mutton gravies were identical in taste and preparation absolutely no variation or uniqueness. It felt like I was being served the same dish twice under different names.
The attitude of the staff, including the owner, was shockingly arrogant and dismissive. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they tried to justify the poor quality and misrepresentation.
Honestly, I would’ve had a far better and more authentic meal at a local joint near Jama Masjid and for a much more reasonable price.
Think twice before dining here. Highly overrated and definitely not...
Read moreAl-Yamin in Daryaganj is one of those places that seems to have gained popularity more because of word-of-mouth hype than actual food quality or service. Unfortunately, the dining experience here was far from satisfactory and left a lot to be desired. To begin with, the food was strictly average and lacked the rich flavour and depth typically expected from Mughlai cuisine in this part of Delhi. The dishes were oily and not well-balanced in terms of spice or texture. The seating space is cramped and poorly maintained, with little effort made toward cleanliness or customer comfort. The biggest concern was the hygiene level which was shockingly bad. Cockroaches could be seen around the seating area and even near the serving counters which is completely unacceptable for any food establishment. The environment felt unhygienic and neglected and definitely not suitable for families or anyone with basic expectations of cleanliness. To make matters worse, the prices are exorbitantly high considering the quality and portion sizes offered. It honestly felt like a total mismatch between what is served and what is charged. There are plenty of local food joints and street vendors near Jama Masjid that offer much better taste, hygiene, and value for money. The service was also disinterested and slow, showing little regard for customer satisfaction. Overall, Al-Yamin was a disappointing experience and is not worth the hype or the price. It’s a waste of time and money, and certainly not a place I would recommend to anyone looking for good food or a pleasant dining atmosphere...
Read moreNow updating my review as my last 2 visits experience was not good. Last sunday family go on dinner. So we ordered al-yamin top class thaali. They took the order and serve after 1 hour. In all of those Biryani was missing so while serving they told wait for 10 minutes biryani getting ready so u start your food will bring asap during eating we have asked around 5 to 6 times for biryani so after 50 minutes they are telling biryani will take 1 more hour to get ready. So you don't worry we will less 40rs per platter. So i asked them in that thaali there are total 9 items atleast divide them with 600rs. So one of worker come very quickly said all items cost is rs 40rs each. I said konse school se padha h bhai 40x9 = 360 hota h bhai. Thn is smile like a dumb n said wo sir oil, butter, gas, labour wo sab bhi toh hota h. Toh maine wo wo sab us biryani me bhi toh jod bhai. Fir wo sunn ho gya aur chala gya. Jate jate maine 1 baqt aur boli bhai agar hum sperately 40rs ki biryani mangne lage toh doge kya ? Then owner smiled and said bhai kaisi baatein kar rhe ho wo toh kam se kam 100 ki rahegi. So at that time i finalized this was my last visit at Al-yamin lootere. Old review 👉Everything is wonderful. We used to visit here for dinner. Weekends queue there. So need to wait for dine in.
