First of all Shantivan and Rajghat are two different sites of same place. So it's better to visit the all together in a same day.

Timings: open from 6:30am to 6pm. Either early morning or afternoon time is best to visit here. TRY TO AVOID THE NOON TIME.

Expense: No entry tickets, Free parking facility available.

Park your vehicle in the FREE PARKING AREA (near Rajghat Swachhata museum). First take a look at SWACHHATA MUSEUM (Regarding the Swachhata mission of PM Narendra Modi)_it will take hardly 5-15min. Then cross small road there to get in through RAJGHAT ENTRY (security check in will be done there) KISHAN GHAT: (Samadhi of former PM Charan Singh) RAJGHAT: Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. It is well maintained one out of all the samadhi here. Also there is ample greenery with rolling space around to sit and chill in the evening. BIR BHUMI: samadhi of former PM Rajib Gandhi. SHAKTI STHAL: samadhi of former PM Indira Gandhi on the way to Shantivan: Big pond with many birds, specially in the evening time... quite a good area to hang around. SHANTIVAN: here lies the samadhi of 2 former PMs - Pt Jawaharlal Nehru and a little behind, that of Sanjay Gandhi.

Overall a nice place to hang around, for half of your day. Spend a family time here and take back a good memory.

*BATHROOM/WASHROOM: one at car parking space. Another on the way to Shantivan.

Have...

This is the Memorial site of Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru who was the first appointed Prime Minister of India.Shantivan which means 'Forest of Peace' is situated on Mahatma Gandhi Marg on the main Ring Road along the banks of the Yamuna River. Shanti Van is beautifully landscaped with shady trees and immense greenery and probably for this very reason it was named as the peaceful forest where one of the greatest National Leader of India was cremated. His last rituals and rites were conducted on 27th May 1964 and in his honour a tomb stone was established on the very place where the funeral of Pt. Nehru was held. Next to Shanti Van, the memorial site of Pt. Nehru, is the Memorial shrine of Sanjay Gandhi who was his grandson and the son of Indira Gandhi (the third and only lady Prime Minister of India and daughter of Pt. Nehru) and Feroze Gandhi. He died in a tragic plane crash which was believed to have been sabotaged by enemies, however, this is still being argued by many and there are no facts or evidences to claim such a reason. On the birthday of late Pt. Nehru which falls on 14th November and on his death anniversary on 27th May, every year, a special prayer session is held at Shanti Van along with a few cultural programmes performed especially by Children like songs and dances in order to show their love and respect for their...

This place houses the memorial to Republic of India's first Prime Minister, J Nehru in the middle of lush green Environment. The ambience of the area is perfect to sit for an hour or couple of hours and people must take out some time from their busy schedule. One should walk from Raj Ghat to Shantivan to experience the glimpses of the area. A simple memorial but setting is in the special greenery. a mini forest is developed around the memorial dedicated to Nehru. the adjacent lake is a icing on the cake, various ducks nest in there Shanti Van is the final resting place for Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Indian Prime Minister. Built at the place where his final rites took place, it is a lovely place, with lovely surroundings, greenery, a lake and beautiful place to remember him and his contribution to the country, both before and after Independence. Located on the bank of river Yamuna, Shanti Van is one of monuments to national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira and Rajiv Gandhi, apart from Pt. Nehru. Wonderful place to be there in early mornings. A place loaded with trees. Also has a small pond with fishes, duck, swan. Sports are not allowed at all Go for doing yoga, exercising, and for Peace. Also has Samadhi of Rajeev Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and some...

A wonderful area in New Delhi. Recidency of the lord spirits. Raj Ghat is a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi, India. Originally it was the name of a historic ghat of Old Delhi (Shahjahanabad). Close to it, and east of Daryaganj was Raj Ghat Gate of the walled city, opening at Raj Ghat to the west bank of the Yamuna River. Later the memorial area was also called Raj ghat. It is a black marble platform that marks the spot of Mahatma Gandhi's cremation, Antyeshti (Antim Sanskar) on 31 January 1948, a day after his assassination. It is left open to the sky while an eternal flame burns at one end. Located on Delhi's Ring Road, officially known as Mahatma Gandhi Road, a stone footpath flanked by lawns leads to the walled enclosure that houses the memorial. shantivan- Jawaharlal Nehru vijayghat- lal bahadur shahtri shaktisthal- Indira Gandhi samta sthal- jagjivan ram kishan ghat- chaudhary charansingh veer bhumi- Rajiv ganghi ekta sthal- gyani zail singh karm bhumi- Shankar dayal sharma sangharsh sthal- devi lal jannayak sthal- chardra shekhar smriti stal- indrakumar gujral sdaiva atal- atal Bihari vajpayee

This place is in accordance with its name.you will definitely find peace here as visitors are very few.lush green lawns, pedestrian, well maintained gardens, active small marshland to attract birds are things to name a few to add beauty of this serene place. A pond was under construction/renovation when i visited there beside shakti sthal where some goose can be seen. A significant number of indigenous flora and fauna are there. Among fauna common birds such as crow, parrot, mynah, yellow footed green pigeon, kingfisher, white erget, indian peafowls, house sparrows are in plenty. Various rock sculpture of modern art are placed intermittently over places here and there. A good place for refreshing morning/evening walk in nature and paying homage to our two father-daughter duo past prime ministers of India.
