Begam — Restaurant in Delhi

Hi.. Hope my review will save atleast 1 person.. To start with.. I had my birthday party at begam today.. 19 June 24.. well discussed for 3.. 4 days straight.. with their manager Yash.. n co manager puneet.. thou puneet isnt tht much responsible bcuz.. commitment saari yash kee thee..don't kno his surname thou.. party was to start at 6.30.. to continue till 9.30 I reached the venue at 6.30 .. n the preps were still on.. I asked them.. y is it so hot.. to which he explained.. ma'am ac abhi start kiya .. time legega..to which i felt .. if the party is to start at 6.30.. u shud have put the ac on atleast 1 n half n hr pehle..still I was like chalo koi nahi ho jayega.. n mic testing n preparations continued till 7.30.. which after repeated requests he didn't take care off.. the dj was pathetic.. he said khubani ka hai.. but i have my doubts.. the waiter told me.. drink bar se banwani padegi..Chalo ek order hum le lete hain.. uske baad aap khud jaana.. still I was fine.. air conditioner didn't work throughout the party.. he kept telling me.. technicians r working on it..I had just 46 guests.. rest were staff thr.. ek hall mein just 46 logo mein .. he told me.. ma'am itne logo mein ac kaise kaam karega.. I bet isse zada effective hamare ghar mein ac kaam karta hai.. to continue.. ac nahi kaam karega 46 guests mein .. in the entire hall..toh mat lo na booking He promised me Russian dancers show.. some rounds.. not even a single round happened.. he promised me.. fire shots.. nothing happened... he promised m in house photographer, the photographer wasnt thr throughout the party..every single thing there was an excuse.. to my surprise he told me ma'am bahot stress hai.. I'm holding 3 events here today.. I still said.. koi nahi aap stress mat lo.. relax.. toh I guess wo ghar kee baat samajh ke itna relax ho gaye.. tht he really took my party for granted.. also they don't have any place for their staff to stand.. they r the part of the venue..even when not required.. also have u had a proper set up .. like a buffet set up for the main course.. then only take a party order.. u r not supposed to keep all the dishes on 1 table n do away with it.. else ..if u don't have a set up.. Serve them individually to each table.. is the host only thr to guide u throughout.. ye kara do.. wo kara do.. khana serve kara do.. was I not eligible to enjoy after paying u so much.. Pls understand.. if I'm capable of holding a party in this big venue.. as it mentions ..by khubani.. I'm too capable of getting u to meet my expectations of a kind of party I'm expecting.. n u committed me all this.. I didn't force u.. yash told me I will always remember this party.. he was right.. I will remember it as nothing happened he promised.. I really regret just trusting a brand name.. n paying them in full for not meeting a single commitment.. So many people he was entertaining in between my party to show the venue..which is not appreciated..I asked him.. he was like ye jagah dekhne aaye hain.. Ofcourse I'm unable to pen down those pathetic.. 3.. 3.5 hrs here.. but if ur not capable pls don't accept bookings.. This is a nice place to just go for regular lunches n dinners.. but guys don't Hold a party here.. u will regret..n To those people..who have already booked.. trusting the manager n this brand name khubani.. all the...

Tl;dr version: Food okay, staff is petty and small minded regarding staff contribution being voluntary, won't visit again. I have attached bill where they reduced the bill. Customers should ask for bill without it.

Long veesion: Food is 4.5/5. So you might be wondering why I am giving only 2 ⭐ rating overall. It is long story. Welcome onboard.

We went today after watching some reels about it. Ordered butter chicken and a turkish platter. Staff was courteous and well behaved (till now). After finishing, we asked for the bill. Now the story takes a turn. The bill had staff contribution of 10% added, which even they knew is voluntary for customers. So I asked for a bill without it (as is my right, as per Delhi High Court verdict). The staff suddenly hadna behaviour shift and started explaining how they have mentioned about this staff contribution on front gate and menu and that makes it mandatory somehow(?). After a long deliberation, I told them to talk to manager and sort it out. Now unique events happened which makes the overall rating only 2 ⭐. • Firstly, they took my contact detail, probably to call and harass in future (they would not have taken the details if I was willing to pay staff contribution) • Secondly, they showed their trie pettt face. Anothet staff was coming with mouth freshner after meal, and the staff (with whom I was talking about the staff contribution) signalled the other staff to not bring the mouth freshner. How much of a petty behaviou can an establishment like this show. Shame on you @Begam. Hope you train your staff to behave properly and not like such scoundrels.

So it's obvious this was my first and last visit to this slimy...

Today, we visited the Begum outlet in Defence Colony, and I had a really disappointing and bad experience there. I have visited other Begum outlets before and never had any complaints, but this was my first time at the Defence Colony outlet, and I am very disappointed with the service and the food.

They need to work on their skills and the quality of the food they prepare. We ordered a couple of drinks, a salad, and dumplings. The salad was okay, but the dumplings tasted really bad. I even informed the server about the issue, but he ignored it.

Additionally, I had booked the table through EazyDiner, which clearly mentioned that the restaurant offers a 10% discount. However, when I asked for the discount, they refused, which was completely unexpected from a brand like Begum.

The staff at this outlet is tarnishing the brand's reputation. I sincerely request the owner to look into this matter, address the service issues, and teach the staff basic manners on how to deal with customers.

As an influencer, I will be mentioning this terrible experience...
