Review for Bikanervala’s Unlimited Rajasthani Thali
I recently tried Bikanervala’s Unlimited Rajasthani Thali, and while the food was delightful and authentic, there are a few areas for improvement.
The thali offers a wonderful selection of Rajasthani dishes like dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, and more. The flavors are rich, and the food is prepared with care, giving you a true taste of Rajasthan. However, I was disappointed to find out that Ker Sangri, one of the highlights of Rajasthani cuisine, is served only on Saturdays and Sundays. It would be great if this dish could be made available throughout the week.
Another aspect that could be improved is the restaurant’s strict “no sharing” policy for the thali. As part of the Indian community, we strongly believe in the philosophy of “sharing is caring,” and this restriction feels a bit rigid. Introducing a fixed thali option alongside the unlimited one would allow smaller eaters and families to enjoy the meal without feeling restricted.
Overall, the food and service were commendable, but offering more flexibility and embracing the spirit of sharing would elevate the dining experience...
Read moreThe ambience is creatively done as per Rajasthani tradition. Decent place for family dining. We ordered their special Rajasthani thali served with warmth by the staff. The variety was quite vast and they kept us serving continuously. Honestly one person can't eat the whole thali alone but they won't allow you to share it. The best part for me was to get a good variety without onion garlic too. Missed kair saangri in the menu . That's a must have item in Rajasthani thali. :) The only disappointment was that while serving every time waiters were touching our joothi katoris even after asking to take care not to touch our plates while serving. Told their manager also , he announced to the staff but guess they need to be trained for that :) That's the reason I gave only three stars for service . Otherwise, if you wanna try traditional Rajasthani family food , you will enjoy the food . And yeah, If you can't eat spicy food then a few dishes will be spicy for you but still you will have a lot of other...
Read more2024 review: Service has really taken a hit here. Dirty table mats, and having to repeatedly ask 4-5 times for any dish. Not satisfied this time.
2023 review: A quantitative and qualitative spread of Rajasthani cuisine on a thali. We tried their Rajasthani Thali and were not disappointed. There are several dishes offered, rice, roti, sweet, dal baati, kachori and much more.
For sweets, they offer unlimited jalebi and fruity dhokla also. There was a live folk musical performance, which was very enjoyable.
We ate to our hearts content. Overall the food was great.
My only complain would be the service. Initially some drink was spilled by the staff at our table, which could be ignored but they decided to serve food on the wet drenched table itself. Later we were given the bill when were still eating, which is extremely rude.
Overall, a...
