The ambience of this place is truly delightful, and I've had the opportunity to visit it multiple times, mainly because of its close proximity to the metro station. One thing I particularly enjoyed about this place is the wide variety of sweets available, including a tempting selection of 5-6 flavors of kulfi and other snacks.

Although I have a generally positive impression of this place, I must rate it three stars for a specific incident that slightly tarnished my experience. During my last visit, I had some free time while in the area, so I decided to have a light meal and indulge in a delicious kulfi. I ordered the Bhalla papdi along with the Chhappan Bhog kulfi.

The waiter promptly served the Bhalla papdi to my table, and it looked just as appetizing as the picture on the menu. The taste was equally enjoyable, with a perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness thanks to the generous amount of sauce. The dish contained black chana and a pickle-like element from the Araceae family (possibly kachalu or Arbi). The Bhalla was exceptionally soft, tender, and mouthwatering, resulting in an overall pleasant taste experience.

However, my experience took an unfortunate turn when I tried the Chhappan Bhog kulfi. Its flavor somehow resembled Sonpapdi or Patisa, leaving a similar aftertaste. To my dismay, as I was about to finish the kulfi, I discovered a hair in it, which thoroughly disgusted me. I immediately called the owner's attention to this issue, and his response was unexpected. He claimed it was not a hair but rather a piece of plastic. I expressed my concern regarding the potential danger of consuming plastic, but the matter was not further discussed. Considering my positive impression of the restaurant and the individual involved, I chose not to escalate the situation. Nevertheless, I had hoped for at least an apology regarding this unpleasant experience.

In any case, this was my personal experience at the restaurant. I still recommend paying a visit to enjoy their delicious chhole bhature, as they are...

I recently visited Grover Sweet in Subhash Nagar for breakfast and tried their popular Aloo Puri thali, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. While the presentation looked appealing at first glance — a nicely arranged plate with puris, aloo sabzi, some onion slices, green chutney, and a glass of lassi in a traditional kulhad — the taste did not live up to expectations.

The biggest disappointment was the aloo sabzi, which should have been the star of the meal. It was completely bland, lacking any real flavor or spice. The consistency was strange, almost like a halwa made of mashed potatoes — thick, pasty, and unappetizing. It seemed like no real effort was put into balancing the spices or enhancing the taste. The puris were okay — puffed and not overly oily — but when paired with such dull sabzi, they failed to make an impression.

The only redeeming part of the meal was the lassi. Served in a kulhad, it was thick, chilled, mildly sweet, and had a lovely creamy texture. It actually felt refreshing and authentic — a small moment of joy in an otherwise disappointing meal.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Grower Sweet for their breakfast thali. It’s visually tempting, but taste-wise, it falls flat. You can maybe stop by just for the lassi, but skip...

This has happened to me twice. The first time, I found a hair in my kulfi, and now in my salad. They didn’t even acknowledge it as a serious issue; they just shrugged it off. This clearly shows that the management doesn’t care. Recently, a new manager, a Sardar ji, took charge of food department. The other day, he asked me to move to make space for another customer to sit at my table. I understand that occupancy is key in the restaurant business, but why inconvenience your existing customers for that? You should manage seating better on your end. Apart from that, I think this place gets confused with another Grover’s Sweets location. I love their food—the quality and taste are great. The owners are friendly too. However, the service needs improvement. If you want to order something while you're eating, you have to wash your hands and place the order yourself. This is obviously not convenient.
