Ikk Panjab is a synonym of the blissful dining experience. Nothing falls short of expectation here. A place to rediscover lost recipes. There are many factors to it. Firstly, the grand door entrance spells like you are entering a fort. The door is so huge. Huge in terms of height and width. Despite that, it is quite easy to open. Almost effortless. That door, in fact, is the first delight factor. The moment you enter, it is entirely a different world inside. Right in front, it splits into two parts. Slight left to you, the tables begin along with a passage to go along inside on the ground floor seating area. While on the right after the entrance there are stairs if you wish to take a table on the first floor. Every wall has its own charm and decor.
In fact, every wall and space has a different story to tell. That way the design and are refreshing and energizing thus giving you another delight factor. The way of welcoming guests is quite natural and full of warmth thereby giving a complete feeling of comfort. Tables are there to accommodate all sizes of a group. So whether it is a couple, small family, large family, extended family, or friends; there is a suitable table for the same. Staff is courteous, well mannered, alert, and well. Now, letâs come to the biggest delight factor, food. Ikk Panjab, as the name suggests offers food of Punjab popular in either side of the border. That means you get the popular dishes of Punjab in Pakistan and India. That makes it Ikk Panjab. A united Punjab of the pre-1947 era.
Dishes from the main course and starters are superbly curated and prepared. Like the walls and spaces here, each dish is also a fabulous, tasty, and healthy story. Every dish comes with a mark of perfection. Like a piece of art from an artist of world fame. Ikk Panjab management believes in the philosophy of encouraging its customers towards âNo Food Wastageâ. Hence the starter dishes come in 2 or 4 pieces per plate depending on the size of the dish. But every starter (or be it main course) compels you for a for its taste and perfection. The limited quantity also provides a leverage to try different dishes without stressing your stomach and giving more delight to taste buds. In drinks, we had Aam Wala Banta, Ambarsariya (a mocktail slush mango and ), Shahi Jeera Lassi, Namkeen Chaas, Desi Gud Wali Lassi, and Mitha Jeera Banta.
I would recommend Shahi Jeera Lassi, Namkeen Chaas, and Wali Lassi for their excellent tastes. Surprisingly unlike Lassi from other places that make it quite heavy, these are light yet perfect. I would call it signature drinks of Ikk Panjab. From starters, we had Apne Hathon De Gol Gappe, Palak Patta Chaat, Mandi Da Special Dahi Bhalla, Kurkuri Dahi (kebabs), Thale Wala Chicken Tikka, Raagni Seekh, Tawa Wali Masale Wali Machhi, and Adrak Matar ki Tikki. As I say, 2 or 4 pieces in each of these dishes are so prompting and tasty that it was almost unstoppable. All these dishes are excellent. I would recommend Kurkuri Dahi, Tawa Wali Masale Wali Machhi, and Adrak Matar Ki Tikki if you ask me to sort out top three of my choice out of these. There are only two choices in soups. Tamatar Dhaniya Ka Shorba and Kukkad Da Shorba.
Both the soups at Ikk Panjab are sumptuous. From the main course, we had Dhaba Tadka Dal, Achari Baigan, and Paneer Lababdar from main course dishes accompanied with Lachha Parantha, Khamiri Roti, and Chilli Olive Naan. Along with that, it was Burrani Raita. Achari Baigan was marvelous. Try these Indian pieces of bread from Ikk Panjab for their unique grand sizes and taste. Finally, we come to the end of this lovely and tiring food journey with desserts to order. We had Lawrence Road Fruit Cream, Gulab Jamun, and Taran Taran De Jalebi Rabri. Jalebi and Gulab Jamun are much bigger than usual ones. That ends the marathon with Dud Patti. Another visit is a must here, anytime for a fabulous...

Very seldom do you find a place thatâs beautifully done up and pleases your food hormones to the core.
IKK PANJAB is not only a restaurant dishing out incredible Punjabi dishes but also interiorwise itâs like a museum of Punjab. Right from showcasing pre partition utensils to Radios, rifles used by the sikh regiment, b&w photographs, portraits of prominent Sikh patriots, hammers , laltens you name it and it is there. The tables interestingly showcase a total of 21 spices that are used in preparing different dishes. First up you are served five types of pickles (mixed, nimbu, aam, lehsun, mirch) on a wooden platter (Even 5 has a meaning attached) signifying PUNJ. Copper seems to be the flavor of the season when it comes to the utensils and cutlery in IKK PANJAB
When it comes to food nothing beats the flavours of Punjab in India.
The menu is well thought out a mix of Punjab street food and some signature foods of Punjab. And more importantly the menu pricing doesnât dig a big hole in your pocket. A mutton Raan on the menu less than Rs 900 gives you the indication that the prices are not exhorbitant. Since the bar is not operational yet we decided to to try their mocktails :
Tikhi Panjaban Ambarsiya
Teekhi Panjaban clearly was the winner (pomegranate seeds, lal mirch, garam masala infused)
Since we were re all carnivores and eat like beasts hungry for days, we ordered the following starters:
Oh Teri Tawa wali Masaledar Machhi Palak Patta Chaat Thele Wala Chicken Tikka Mutton Barrah Srason Machi Tikka Sialkot Boti Its difficult to decide what to order first but surely we had to start with Oh Teri, butter chicken samosas. Samosas filled with chicken served with butter chicken gravy.
For me personally the winner was Sialkot ki Boti â succulent pieces of mutton marinated with khada masalas, if you are a mutton lover you are going to be in love with this Sarson Machhi Tikka â When you use the word Machhi instead of fish, you have that Punjabi feeling. Nothing better than fresh fish delicately done and presented neatly. Mutton Barra : Barra is often an indicator of how good the chef is, here he delicately plays with the mutton. IKKPUNJAB Barras are marinated, skewered, roasted and perfectly charred in the tandoor, on the bone. Tender, spicy and smoky â A Delight
The mains : Dal Makhani Butter Chicken Meat wale rice Breads
I can confidently say that IKK PUNJAB offers the best butter chicken gravy that you will get in this part of Delhi.
Meat wale rice is not the usual biryani that you get in restaurants but the perfect meat wale chawal that you get in Punjab with pieces of wadiyan in the rice , wadiyan as they call it is an integral part of Punjabi cuisine.
How can a Punjabi dinner be complete without desserts. Moong Dal Halwa and Lawrence food cream were what we decided upon, both were absolutely fantastic with right amount of sweet levels , the fruit cream was perfectly garnished with fruits. A perfect ending to a satisfying meal.
Looking forward to visiting soon to try their other dishes â specially their Mutton Raan.
Highly...
