Sanjha Chulha is a North Indian non-veg restaurant in Kailash Colony. My friend, who has fond memories of this place from 10-12 years ago when it was just a street trolly vendor serving tandoori chicken, took me there. We had a bit of trouble finding parking, but the guard helped us out. Cars were parked on both sides of the alley, with people (mostly men) eating in their cars, and some even drinking alcohol.
We decided to dine inside the restaurant to enjoy our meal in peace. The seating arrangement is decent, accommodating 40-50 people on the ground floor. The restaurant stays open until 2 AM, which is convenient. Our food arrived on time, and the bread was baked perfectly to our liking. I had a good experience as the chicken dish was well-prepared, but my friend was slightly disappointed. He felt the quality and preparation have declined compared to his memories from years ago.
While it’s a family restaurant, I wouldn’t recommend it for families with kids due to the drinking in the parking lot.

The chicken kalmi, with its juicy and perfectly spiced meat, is the star of the menu. Their dal makhani and kadhai paneer are other must-try item, with a creamy texture and aromatic flavors. Don't forget to have the food with their green chutney sauce with onions, the perfect accompaniment to any dish.
What sets Sanjha Chulla apart is their commitment to customer service. They're open until late and even serve food in the car if you can't dine in . A welcoming atmosphere, and consistent quality of food make this restaurant a go-to destination for food lovers. I have been visiting this place since 2000 and still can't get enough of their delectable dishes.
An Update - One thing that I missed during my last visit was their ice cream outlet, Goosebumps, which is now shut. I particularly missed their bubble gum nitrogen ice cream, which was a must-try.
In conclusion, if you're in Delhi and want to savor some of the best Indian food, Sanjha Chulla is the place to be.

Read moreOne of the oldest restaurants in Delhi I remember patronising especially for their Chicken Malai Tikka Rolls with the chutney. But my recent visit about 4 days back was very disappointing. First there was a party going on in the group floor and for that reason when we were asked to sit on the first floor, the tables were all dusty. Had to call someone to attend us and clean the table. We were the lone visitors.
The malai tikka rolls lacked the flavour of the tandoor and the chutney was just a preparation by a wannabe chef. So we decided to try the chicken tikka masala rolls. Once again the chicken inside was the same version as mentioned above but with chilli powder to make it spicy and hot. Unlike the chicken which was well marinated this was just a last moment addition of spices making it taste unlike a tikka masala.
Why I didn’t ask the waiter why the quality was not upto the mark? I had a guest from outside Delhi who was visiting this place for the first time and I had already praised highly. I didn’t want to feel disappointed too.
