As the name suggests, ‘The Turkey Project’ is named after the bird. Turkey is a native to America and is believed to have been domesticated for their cultural and symbolic significance. Taking this into account, the restaurant is also built up with more things natural.
The place is done up in two floors, small but quite airy. A place where you can grab a quick bite, or have a leisurely date. Menu is American and Italian and they have kept it small, which is all the more good as you don’t have to get lost on what to order.
As it was a hot afternoon we started with the lemon and basil soda and a grape and rosemary lemonade. The drinks were refreshing and they also have quite a few more options to choose from the ice-tea or the lemonade bar menu.
The food came in quite quick and all at the same time. The things ordered were Fries before Guys, a half n half pizza, Fricken and Truffled Affair pasta.
Fries before guys – Crispy fries topped with generous amount of cheese( which is in-house made)
Half n half Pizza – It was definitely one of the best pizzas we have had. One half was the’ Santorini Summer Pizza’, which had a topping of peppers, jalapenos, olives with fresh mozzarella and the other was topped with Turkey bacon & ham with garlic confit called the ‘The Tur(n)key Project’. The base was thin crust and we loved the flavors.
Fricken – Boneless chicken breasts, crumb coated and fried served with chilli sauce and mayo. The chicken was cooked to perfection however if had without the sauces it lacked taste.
A Truffled Affair (Pasta) – Mushroom Pate, Garlic Cream, Truffle Oil made with penne was creamy and delicious.
The pricing of the food is minimal and they are yet to receive their alcohol license. So we aim to go back...

Nachos topped with sauce?
Delivery - 2/5 Packaging - 2/5 ( They got FDA approved cardboards that’s really cool but there is nothing special to keep the pizza hot ) Food Quality - 3.5/5 Pizza Base - 3/5 ( Really crispy edge ) Chicken Quality - 3/5 ( Topping is very limited ) Cheese Quality - 1/5 ( Cheese was replaced by chipotle sauce ) Spicy level - 1/5 ( Not at all spicy ) Quantity - 4/5 ( But Limited with topping )
Lemon Ice Tea Packaging - 3/5 ( They have given a thought on the bottle but overall the material is very cheap ) Sweet Level - 2/5 ( Perfect ) It was more like lemonade with seeds.
The gesture of sending seeds was really different and great. Box with personalized letter was even more cool. The box is simple but it’s so well customized that you fall in love with the sweet gesture. But here is the thing! Simple cardboard can never keep pizza hot. The stopper on lemonade was extremely cheap and hard to remove. Topping needs to be more generous with more cheese. It’s not really a premium pizza! But they got great vision for marketing.
Recommendation...
Read moreI'd been hearing about The Turkey Project from a good friend and we finally got to visit last night. We were the only customers there throughout our time there, given the Covid situation. And we kinda appreciated feeling like the place belonged to us. There was an attentive staff member at our disposal at all times and he helped us with the order as well, which ended up being prawns (I think there's only one kind, I can't remember the name), a truffle mushroom spaghetti pasta and litchi sangria. I would say the food was good - there's nothing I would really change about it, except nothing tasted new. The pasta was a very basic white sauce mushroom pasta and while I don't know what would've made it better, it was definitely a few notches below being great. The sangria (pitcher) was alright too but later, when we realized how much it was for - 2100, I personally didn't think it was worth it. I would recommend the place for a short drop-in perhaps, but with the prices and the normalcy of the food, I would choose some other...
