Haldiram's - Vegas Mall Dwarka — Restaurant in Dwarka

This is the first outlet of Haldiram that I have rated below 4 stars. With most of their other outlets my experience has generally been good but this particular outlet did not quite come up to expectations.

They do not seem to be well prepared to handle rush hour. Yesterday while ordering I was first informed that Rajma-Rice combo was unavailable, then subsequently told that it was available. After having placed the order when I handed over the slip to their service counter they said it wasn't available. Then after checking with the kitchen they said that it was available and I should come back after about 10 minutes.

When I did go back to collect the order, I was disappointed with the way it was served. EVERYTHING was dumped into one bowl, including the rajma, rice, mango pickle, onion rings and the papd was stuck into the sides of the bowl.

The result was that the rajma had taken on a pickle flavour, and I don't particularly care for pickle. The onion rings were soaked in Rajma gravy and the papad, which is supposed to be crisp, was soggy.

Either they're instructed to save on the cost of a paper plate where everything could be individually placed, or they have no idea how a basic Punjabi preparation is supposed to be served, or they just don't care. Or they were too overworked in rush hour to do a proper job and cutting corners.

Whatever their reasons, it was enough to put me off. Not visiting this particular...

Haldirams needs no introduction, and so the blind trust is always there with such a brand. This one is located in Sector 14, Vegas Mall (in the food court).

I decided to order Makke di Roti & Sarso da saag from this outlet as i ddnt want to risk the preparations for the same due to it being a seasonal special. Delivered quite cold, delivery was late by 10mins, saag was still fine but the roti wasnt soft at all, quite hard and ddnt seem to be a fresh and quality preparation.

Will not recommend this outlet as its really not doing justice to the brand name...
