A New Favourite for Pizza Lovers in South Goa

Until recently, I didn’t have a go-to pizza place in Salcete south of Margao but Firestones changed that. While North of Margao boasts favourites like Da Tita, what makes Firestones stand out is that the pizzaiolo is the owner himself. That means your special requests and feedback are welcomed with genuine interest and attention.

I ordered the Firestone Special Pizza, and it was absolutely worth the money. Loaded with pepperoni, chicken tikka, onions, and more, what truly elevated it was the in-house pizza sauce. It has a distinct, delicious flavour that holds its own and ties the toppings together beautifully.

The sides were equally impressive. We ordered Crispy onion rings. After eating a couple of them, I was like-damn these rings also deserve a positive review. That's when I clicked the pic -which show fewer rings than what was served to us. The boba drink which was quite refreshing and not too sweet. Loved both of them. I have to be honest, I would have loved a chilled glass of beer but it doesn't sell alcohol. I'm not complaining though as they promote this place for kids birthdays, which I think is a great concept since parent wouldn't want people drinking alcohol around when they organise a birthday party for their kids and their young friends.

The service was quick. I think I got my pizza in 15 mins even though most of the tables were occupied. It's an open kitchen so you can see that everything is clean and hygienic. Wood fired or brick oven Pizza is a type of Pizza that's cooked in a brick oven. Instead of being heated by electricity or gas, a brick Pizza oven employs burning wood to cook pizza. The special about wood fired Pizza is that it's not only tastier than other kinds of pizzas but it also healthier. The extreme heat in a wood burning oven cooks the pizza super fast, which helps the toppings hold onto their natural nutrients. Wood fired Pizza doesn't need preservatives because it's made with fresh , all natural ingredients. It's also much healthier because the vegetables retain their nutrients since the pizza is cooked faster. The crust is full of good carbs, and any meats added on are a great source of protein. We wanted to go for Domino's but we preferred Firestones woodfired pizza because it was very close by.
