Ritz classic is well known for its seafood cuisine which boasts a variety of Goan and Konkani delicacies. The place is a buzz with flouting tourists and localites both I'm the evening and afternoon. There is a lot of waiting as the seats are full inside and I would like to suggest pre-booking seats here before arriving. Placing your order while waiting would be better.

The thali system is quite popular here which is available only in the afternoon till 3.30 PM. Thali orders are taken only upto 3 PM so if you are reaching the place post that it is suggested to preorder. Traditional goan and Konkani seafood is very tasty and sought after. I would like to encourage people to try this rather than the A La Carte dishes as I had a bad experience with it. We had ordered chicken Xacuti and Butter rotis. The chicken gravy was not as per the Xacuti style and the chicken was quite raw. In my earlier visit though I had ordered a Prawns thali and that was mind blowing. The Prawns were fresh and the thali accompanied with various forms of fish like karandi chutney ( mini prawn ). The portion quantity for thali is sufficient rather on the higher side.

Service : There have been a lot of complaints regarding the service offered here by the staff. Although the taste compensates for it but I would like to be eating at a place where I feel welcome and not as a burden for the hotel staff. The waiters are very rude here. They will ignore you since there is a lot of rush and enforce having packaged drinking water. I had asked the waiter to get house water for us but he ignored ke completely and got the packaged bottle. I asked him to replace it with house water. He took the bottle inside, returned after 10 minutes with the same bottle. Kept it in the table and vanished for a couple minutes. I had to call him again and cause a ruckus to get house water.

We were asked to order A La Carte since it was past 3 PM. And Thalis were served to people who arrived after us. After a casual conversation with the bar tender the family who was served thali even after coming late turned out to be that of one of the managers. This hotel really needs to improve on their service.

Summing it up

Extreme disappointment: Horrible experience right from the start. You walk to the restaurant on 1st floor which is so chaotic . Huge crowd and nobody has a clue who is before or after them in line. People are asking for token but no arrangements for that too. It was a pleasure to have at this restaurant in 2012 and now is a disaster. This place takes people for granted that has an attitude “ we are too good so people will come” Such places should be boycotted who have no value for customers and patrons. To manage the crazy crowd they allot the seats to the next set of people who sit on your head waiting for your to get up. There used to be one yummy veg thali which they have now stopped. The worst part of the experience was the supervisor who came to take our order. He was obliging us by even coming to our table. Least interested in talking the order. In the horrible noisy place we couldn’t hear what he was saying about the thali. We asked some query and the man turns back and tells us “ main kya bola tumne suna nahi , aap bolo main kya bola” I was aghast at the tone of talking. He obviously wouldn’t give his name: even the other supervisor was a grouchy man. If they can’t handle the crowd they should manage in a better way than behaving disgusting with their customers. I wish people show them their place and boycott for them to realise that people make the restaurants famous . That supervisor should be given an award for the worst one in hospitality industry. The expression in the photo shows his attitude and behaviour. I wouldn’t go back to Rits classic even if they pay me money to eat here . You can leave your dignity behind and...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ritz, and I must say it lived up to the buzz it had generated. Located in Goa, this place is known for its reputation and the delightful dishes it offers. While some items may be on the pricier side compared to other local options, the flavors and quality make it a worthwhile experience.

One standout dish that I highly recommend is the Squid Batter Fry. It was simply exceptional and a must-have for seafood lovers. The squid was cooked to perfection, with a crispy batter that added an enticing texture to every bite. This dish alone made the visit to Ritz worthwhile.

Aside from the Squid Batter Fry, the Prawns Thali was another enjoyable choice. The prawns were flavorful and well-prepared, accompanied by a variety of sides that complemented the main dish nicely. For vegetarians, the option of Roti and Paneer Makani was satisfactory, although not as remarkable as some of the other offerings.

The ambience at Ritz is cozy and homely, creating a welcoming atmosphere for a quiet dinner with friends and family. It's a perfect setting for those seeking an authentic dining experience in Goa. Additionally, considering the quality of food and the overall experience, the prices are reasonable and not overly expensive.

In conclusion, Ritz is definitely a must-visit if you're looking for an authentic and enjoyable dining experience in Goa. While it may be slightly pricier compared to other local options, the delectable Squid Batter Fry alone justifies a visit. The Prawns Thali is also worth trying, and the homely ambience adds to the overall charm...
