This review is specifically for desserts in an area where dessert bars are quite scarce, and this quaint coffee bar is almost a boon for all those craving a dessert late into the night when the clock rings 11 PM. Nestled cozily on the ever-so bustling Calangute-Anjuna Road, this small room-sized coffee bar is almost camouflaged amongst neighboring restaurants, bars and shops, but the desserts here, as my star rating suggests and being very very picky and strict with food I taste, it is well-deserving to receive a landmark of its own, despite the fact that they are very minimalistic and not boisterous with their approach towards anything. Almost homely, might I say. After a heavy meal at one of the many fancy restaurants dotting the Candolim and Calangute road and beyond which didn't have any desserts on the menu apart from a sad and unchanged Tiramisu which also contains egg, I and my friends needed something sweet to satiate our sweet cravings for the night and there were no dessert bars nearby or at least open dessert bars as the clock ticked past 10.45 PM. We found out about this place on google maps, inspected the dessert menu and rode our way till there. And yes, as expected not a lot of dishes can be made once the clock has ticked past 10.30 PM with an exception for the desserts which we were greatly happy to hear since it was the sole reason we scrambled our way till there. We decided to go ahead with Chocolate Walnut Brownie and Blueberry Cheesecake. However, we were strongly suggested to try their new creation, The Tiramisu Biscoff Crunch which we eventually went ahead with because who doesn't love a little more dessert? Within about 10 minutes we were served some of the most sweetly aromatic food ever smelt the entire day. The brownie was just mouth-pleasing and decadent for its fudgy texture but also its moreish flavour that was neither too sweet nor too bitter from the chocolate and I was happy with the ratio walnuts put in with the piece of brownie we got served, but what made it special for me or at least, interesting was that, it was not dry and I definitely didn't need a melting ice cream on top to gulp it down. The Blueberry cheesecake was certainly amazing. The biscuit base, the baked cheesecake and the bluberry coulis on top were absolutely great and was very well-balanced, but it certainly wasn't the best of all the cheesecakes I ever tried. It is still worth a try because it wasn't treacly and it definitely was very flavorsome. The Tiramisu made exclusively for everyone sans the alcohol and egg was ingenious enough and it definitely deserved an applause. Of course, who doesn't love Biscoff made all the more moreish and divine by the use of coffee and mascarpone cheese cream? I won't say that it was the dish of the day since it definitely lacked the flavour of coffee after being called a Tiramisu. It was more of a Serradura than a Tiramisu and I would be happy if it was called that but I still can't stop imagining the combination of a hint of coffee elevating the cinnamon-spiced caramel-flavoured biscuit layers in between and making it a very unique eating experience. However, we were still very happy with what we had. The staff are well-spoken and quite polite and not to mention very convincing and friendly. And the overall experience was quite good despite not being an actual dessert bar. From the looks of the menu and the food we got served, I believe the food here, when arriving early could be worth a try and I have no regrets for what I paid for the desserts at all despite the minute flaws. And I would also love to see what more plated desserts can they make or experiment upon in due...

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Gusto Gelato & Coffee Bar and was genuinely impressed by the experience from start to finish. Nestled in a cozy corner of the city, this spot has quickly become one of my favorites, offering more than just the usual coffee and dessert options.
First of all, the coffee at Gusto is something special. I was surprised to find an authentic range of manual brewed coffee options, prepared with great care. The pour-over I had was rich and full of flavor, showcasing the owner's commitment to quality. If you're a coffee lover, you’ll definitely appreciate their dedication to the craft of brewing!
Beyond the coffee, the menu is full of delicious surprises. I tried one of their freshly made sourdough sandwiches—it was perfectly toasted with a variety of delicious fillings. The pasta they serve is also a standout—simple but full of flavor, with ingredients that taste incredibly fresh.
And, of course, you can’t miss their gelato! With a great range of gelato ice creams, the flavors were creamy and indulgent, each one better than the last. Whether you’re in the mood for something fruity or more decadent, Gusto has something to satisfy every craving.
What really sets this place apart, however, is the hospitality. Armaan was incredibly welcoming, taking the time to explain the offerings and make me feel right at home. The founding couple behind Gusto clearly cares about their customers, and it shows in the quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the genuine warmth they offer.
