If you’re craving true South Indian spice and soul-satisfying Andhra-style food in the heart of Goa, Mana Adhar Ruchulu near Calangute Beach is an absolute gem. Nestled close to the bustling shoreline, this place brings the comfort and heat of Telugu cuisine right to your plate!
🍽️ Andhra Meals: The meals are a standout — simple, traditional, and deeply flavorful. Served on a banana leaf (sometimes), the meal includes piping hot rice, dal, vegetable curry, spicy chutneys, rasam, and sambar — all with the unmistakable Andhra punch. The spice levels are just right, and the ghee on top adds the perfect touch of richness.
🍗 Chicken Biryani: Full of aroma and packed with spice, the chicken biryani here is cooked to perfection. Long-grain basmati rice layered with tender, juicy chicken pieces in a fiery Andhra masala — every bite bursts with flavor. It’s served with a spicy mirchi ka salan and cool raita that balances the heat.
🦐 Prawns Biryani: A must-try! The prawns are fresh and well-marinated, and the biryani is fragrant with traditional spices. It’s a true Andhra coastal delicacy that seafood lovers will appreciate. The spice level is bold but not overpowering, and the masala seeps beautifully into the rice.
🥣 Curd Rice: End your meal with a comforting bowl of curd rice. Lightly seasoned with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies, it’s the perfect cooling dish after the spicy mains. Creamy, tangy, and soul-soothing!

✨ Final Verdict: Whether you’re a homesick Telugu foodie or a curious traveler looking to try bold Andhra flavors, Mana Adhar Ruchulu hits the spot. Clean ambiance, generous portions, authentic taste, and friendly service — all just minutes from Calangute Beach. Highly recommended!

Read moreWe had high expectations of savoring authentic Andhra cuisine based on glowing reviews. Although the dishes were undeniably spicy and delectable, they fell short of genuine Andhra flavours. For instance, the Andhra chilli chicken lacked the customary whole chillies and seeds that typically infuse a mouthwatering spicy kick into the gravy. Instead, it leaned towards a mild, lemony profile. Even the pepper chicken failed to showcase the expected peppery zing.
It appeared that the restaurant might prepare its dishes in bulk, evident from the speedy service and visual cues. So this is something to anticipate when dining here. The standout dish for me was the chicken fry piece biriyani, although it leaned more towards a Tamilian or South Indian style rather than pure Andhra. Nevertheless, it was an incredible blend of spice and flavour, making it the best biriyani I've sampled in Goa so far. My only wish was that it arrived warmer.
The service was prompt and the staff was polite throughout. Even their chapatis and sliced onions were quite fantastic.
Unfortunately, the restaurant's hygiene standards left much to be desired. The tables were greasy and appeared to be merely wiped with a cloth, and so looked some of the glasses. Trash was scattered on the floor, and there were even full garbage bags in plain view near our seating area. The establishment needs to address these cleanliness concerns to match their culinary prowess. Once these issues are resolved, I'd feel much more comfortable recommending this place to my friends. I plan to revisit for lunch to explore their renowned banana leaf meals. However, for other occasions, it might be wiser to opt...
