MIGUEL ARCANJO — Restaurant in Goa

I expected a premium dining experience from a restaurant located inside a 5-star hotel, but what I got was absolutely unacceptable. Finding a strand of hair in my dish was not just off-putting—it was shocking.

At this level, basic hygiene should be non-negotiable. Even more disappointing was the staff’s lackluster response—no real apology, no urgency to fix the issue. It completely ruined what was supposed to be nice lunch.

For the price and the reputation this place carries, the standards were far below what anyone should tolerate. Definitely not returning, and I would advise others to think twice before dining here. Also, tried the calamari in honey chilli sauce and was left completely underwhelmed. The calamari was rubbery and overcooked, while the sauce was far too sweet and lacked any real chilli kick. The flavors didn’t blend at all—it tasted more like a confused mess than a thoughtfully prepared dish. Definitely not worth the price...

Food is always a matter of personal taste, but I'll go ahead and recommend the Stuffed Squid, Thellacherry Prawns & The Lobster Peri Peri (the stuffed squid still remains in my taste memory....very very delicious) 😋

Being the Taj, the service is veeeerryyy hands on we felt like the center of the universe for a time 🤣 (i think it's because we were the only ones there)

The place has a very simple and clean setting, ideal for date lunches or dinners, because all the focus is on the diner and the food. Taking one star off from Atmosphere as the music could have been better.

P.S. The cocktails are alright...wouldn't recommend breaking bank on anything fancy

Fantastic experience,

It was a great time we had on our special day,

It was our first date together as wife and husband.

Service staff was good, food was great.

I must say APPAM AND VEG STEW is out of the world.

I was really overwhelmed by that dish, I would definitely recommend that to try and I’m coming back to eat that.

It’s a shame I live in London, but I would never forget this dish and the time we spent there dining.
