We go to Goa every year to attend rider mania (RE) event which is held in November every year .
My husband is attending from 2008 & I’m accompanying him from 2012. We stay in Hacianda de Goa lovely place very clean and tidy and beautiful and swimming pool very very very clean and friendly staff and wonderful management, his name is Mr Thomas. We would regularly meet few same guest ( foreigners)and staff were also same. Unfortunately he had expired 2 years ago and after Covid when we tried booking we came to know that they had closed, we really missed him and the hotel.
This year we booked fren residence in Baga. since we had stayed in Junagadh and Shivamogga both places were very neat and clean and staff also were nice,
but
We had horrible experience in Goa 😡😡😡
In reception only one person & check in time is 2pm but he kept on telling wait and we waited till 3.30pm. People were waiting before us with small children.
Rooms no 401were so dirty and filthy and the beds 🛌 were so dirty with muddy footprints. Room was smelling , toilet 🚽 was dirty and even door handles were dirty and broken.
Staff were so rude and disrespectful. They aced as if they were giving the room for free.
Garbage 🗑️( more than 5 bags )and all collected dust afte sweeping was left in front of the door 🚪 we couldn’t get in side.
When I showed it to the staff & manager they didn’t help us. They behaved as if it wasn’t their responsibility
Garbage bags were licking & one of the boy took the towels which they provide to us and he started cleaning the floor 😑 same would be given to the customer.
When we decided to check out the manager told he would give another room and he showed me the room and the toilet 🚽 cover so dirty.
8 actually the room which we had booked they didn’t give us , when I asked them why they told us that they would allot it after 1/2 hour and they didn’t .
9 we go good hotels because we think they are well maintained and hygiene.
Maybe when we book the rooms online they underestimate us. Because they are accepting that the room is dirty 😡
It’s our hard earned money and this people take us for granted. After Covid it should be more clean.
I really don’t understand how everyone are telling it’s neat. The rooms are not even worth for 1k per night, it’s so annoying, horrible and seriously poor service. We were suppose to pay 18k which was totally unacceptable and wast of money.
I should’ve taken photos to upload.
Hopefully the concern department takes action against such horrible behaviour and horrible maintenance.
I’m really surprised how people can stay with small children in such dirty conditions 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Good we didn’t stay in fren
We immediately left the hotel and luckily got a room in hotel bluo amani vagator and the rooms were clean and neat and even the staff were friendly. I don’t think we would stay in fren here after.
Please check the rooms before paying the money for the room and make sure the rooms are clean and neat. Check the beds...

Read moreI had high hopes for this hotel shifting from a 4-star south goa hotel to this 4-star north goa hotel. If the earlier hotel was an actual four-star one, this one deserves to be in a 2-star category. The room was very good, and that's where its experience mostly ends. The hotel was massively understaffed, and that was visible during our entire stay. The front desk staff/manager had to help us themselves to carry our luggage during check-in Room service would generally ignore the majority of the calls. Once connected to alternate restaurant number 69 before 3Pm, they even declined to take any order, and asked to call back after 6Pm. Even the front desk failed to arrange a callback. Finally when we went downstairs they failed to connect with the restaurant as there was no one to respond Asking for water RO water around 11:15 Pm went ignored, and we went to sleep without it The room cleaning was half done to be realised at 8:30Pm on the second night, when we had asked them to keep it ready in the afternoon Room cleaning temporary staff were literally struggling being new. On the third day I requested for a room clean at 12:30Pm, only to get it after 6Pm, where I had to ensure nothing is missed The front-desk person was carrying the luggage around even at 9 oclock in the evening due to shortage of staff Whenever you ask for anything from the restaurant their default answer was almost towards a No. They even declined to serve from the Kids Menu section Plates left outside the door would be kept there for almost 12 hours with no one to collect or clean it
Overall the service experience was a blunder from the hotel. If it wasn't for the front desk staff I would have given a 1 star rating for the service, and would have been a disaster for all the persons staying here. They were just struggling to keep the hotel running.
On the good part, the room was absolutely fine. But it's overpriced by 2 - 3K per night given the service experienced. If this was listed as 2 star category property, I would have rated 4 stars in review, since hospitality and service is not that much expected from that category of hotels. And lastly room service charges were too high for a 2-star service.
My first stay at a Fern property turned out to be a not so good experience. And lastly, their parking space is decent enough to accommodate around 16 4-wheelers in total, but it's not so great if you want a dedicated area. Its more like parking on the footpath in front...
