Rainbow Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Goa

I just left here yesterday after spending 10 lovely days and nights in one of Rainbow's colourful beach huts. Highlights? Great attentive service; muesli with fruit or various fresh juices for breakfast; yoga lessons available at 8am and 4pm every day (not that I availed myself of them); great location right on the beach (though the 'sea-view rooms' don't really have a sea view). You do, however, get to wake up to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Also if you stay for a while it's only 800s a night for a double bed in a beach hut. Lowlights? 1) I had to ask for a mosquito net, which should come as standard given that the huts are not sealed like a room in hotel would be. I had to do a sweep of the bathroom every morning killing mozzies to avoid being eaten alive. 2) They turned off the wifi every night at 10.30/11pm which was annoying when you are trying to Skype family and friends in the UK who are 5 and half hours behind. 3) The place is mostly frequented by Russians, who I'm sure are all lovely people but since I don't speak Russian and they don't speak English... let's just say it's not an ideal place to stay if you don't speak Russian, are travelling on your own and are looking to meet people to hang out...

No proper response and respect for Indians. The attender was always looking out for the Russian customers and entertained them. We had to wait longer to ask for the next order or to ask for anything else. He didn't even listen to the order properly as he saw a few Russian customers approaching the hotel and forgot the order details. During payment, he was in such a hurry, couldn't even wait until the payment process, pulled the credit card from the machine before payment completed. And when we told other staff about his behaviour, they were not even acknowledging it. Food was above average but Disappointed with Racist behaviour, because of which we forgot...

The service is prompt and one can spend a lot of time without being bothered by the staff. Quality is above average and chicken biryani stands out along with variety of fresh juices an ice cream. Compare it to the prices of nearby shacks it’s reasonable out here and rainbow is a complete package to go out for without...
