Disappointing Decline in Service and Hospitality at Bora Bora, Morjim
Racist staff, Not at all welcoming to Indians
I recently revisited Bora Bora at Morjim, a restaurant that had long been a personal favorite of mine. However, to my utter disappointment, I found that the quality of service had significantly deteriorated. What used to be a place known for its exceptional hospitality has now become a shadow of its former self, especially when it comes to serving Indian customers.
The staff, who were once courteous and attentive, have now turned remarkably arrogant. My attempts to seek assistance from the manager proved futile, as he exhibited the same level of indifference and lack of understanding. It became glaringly apparent that they no longer value or welcome Indian patrons. Such behavior is not only disheartening but also highlights a serious decline in their hospitality standards.
This unfortunate experience made me realize that Goa, once renowned for its warm and friendly service, is losing its charm due to the faltering service standards at such establishments. The essence of true hospitality seems to be fading away, which is a real shame for this beautiful destination.
Given this disappointing experience, I strongly advise against visiting Bora Bora at Morjim. Instead, I recommend heading to Tomatoes, a place that continues to excel in both food quality and service. Tomatoes stands out as a beacon of what great dining experiences should be, ensuring that every customer feels valued and well...
Read moreI fondly remember Bora Bora from 10 years back as having staff that prefers their customers clad in white skin. In the last decade, I tried various fairness creams but was mostly unsuccessful, so went back secretly hoping the place might have changed over the years because I was turking for some Syrniky. I was told by the waiter that it wouldn't be possible as it needs to sit overnight or something. And then he looked at me like I should have known better before asking (You pleb, you?!) I apologized for my utter lack of knowledge in the pancake arts and asked for an omelette instead. When I asked for butter with my toast though, I was told disdainfully that the eggs were cooked in butter. He was obviously looking out for my waistline but ingrate that I am, I still insisted on a little butter. When the butter finally did come 10 minutes after I was done eating, I was informed that it was already punched, so I'd need to pay for it. So I asked for some more bread to eat my butter with. I'd have to pay for that too obviously d-uh!
All in all, the food wasn't just ordinary, it was "extra" ordinary. And while the staff all looked a little tired, it was probably because they spent the night being shown Putin's favourite positions by the Russian pharmaceutical businessmen who frequent the place (totally understandable of course).
It's a must visit if you're looking for change of pace from your life of privilege and wanting to feel victimized like our ancestors pre-independence. Can't...
