Based on a recent review I decided to visit this Restaurant for lunch. The place was fairly empty as it was 1pm too early for indians and goans. Hence the owner Tino could give me his personal attention which I appreciated. However the Restaurant could do with a waiter or two as when the tables started getting busy Tino who doubles up as waiter manager is unable to cope with the handling. The guy who serves the food looks scruffy and unclean. This puts off a diner like me. He should be clean and presentable.
The place is swarming with flies and this is understandable since it is the onset of monsoons. So one cannot enjoy the food with flies causing a menace. The owner should put up UV rays flies and mosquito entrapment.
It gets hot and humid as the standing fans don't do justice. There again an impediment to enjoying a meal.
The food we ordered viz pork amsol and recheado squid were yummy. The chicken thali was good. The chonak fish thali was good barring the crabs and teesrio sukha which were not fresh and poor quality. I brought this to the attention of the owner who said now a days the teesrio don't come fresh but frozen but that doesn't mean you serve such mediocre food which was off and could hv caused stomach problems.
A must try is the ginger Fenny.
The owner is trying his best to maintain order but in a competitive business environment the current handling of affairs cannot continue if they hv to survive.
I complained about too many dogs at the entrance and was advised that the Owner is a dog rescuer. We'll appreciated but u don't hv to let them sleep at the entrance. Make alternative arrangements for them to relax.
I wanted to buy a bottle of ginger Fenny but it took some time to get the bill and I had a taxi waiting so missed out on the opportunity
Good luck to 3 Kisses and Feni...
Read moreThe restaurant ambience seemed calm and serene. It's a dog sanctuary so appropriate signage should've been put up at the entrance. It was afternoon so we ordered butter garlic squids, mussels rava fry and chonak fish rava fry. The squids were fine but the rava fry on the mussels and chonak was falling off and the fish was not too fresh. We didn't bother much and the owner advised we take one seafood and one non-veg thali as we were a family of four.
Now the tragedy really begins... The seafood thali had clams (tisreos) which has excessive salt so requested to change it. The replacement batch had mostly coconut gratings with almost no meat. Prawn curry had only 2 small prawns and the curry was tasteless. Small crabs were cooked in cafreal masala which is normally used for chicken dishes, not crab preparation. The non-veg thali had pork vindaloo which was doused in vinegar and my daughter almost threw up. This was replaced but the replacement was no better. Reason provided was the vinegar was locally prepared so was extra strong (i.e. unpalatable). The prawn curry in this thali had stale prawns. The chicken Xacuti tasted bad so the kids would not touch it. We left most of the thali food behind as it was mostly inedible. The owner didn't seem to care and didn't even bother to check why we left the food. Not only that we were charged full rate for sub-standard food which does not come across as good business ethics.
The appearance of the food was good but we have now learned not to judge food by its appearance. Both my wife and I were sick in the stomach that evening as well as the next day. Wish we had not visited based on reviews as they did not align with our experience of...
Read moreGenuinely the best restaurant in South Goa. I tried their Breakfast and Lunch. I feel i should go again and again. Every dish ordered was spectacular. Car parking may be a concern if the place is full. If you are an early bird, you won't face any trouble.
My wife had a severe cold and the owner recommended some feni at every visit. It was very sweet of him.
Breakfast: A must visit We tried their Goan Breakfast: Goan chorizo(pork), Beef Roast, Poi, Juice, Coffee, Grilled tomato & mushroom, 2 Sunny side eggs. (Our favourite-exceptional) English breakfast: Sausages, Bacon, Baked beans, 2 slices in halves, Juice, Coffee, Grilled tomato & mushroom, 2 Sunny side eggs. (Good) Ros Omelette: The omelette was good although I was expecting a green gravy alongside. The orange one was good.
Lunch: Best experience We tried Fish Thali - Really good but I am in love with their starters only Pork chops - I was drooling over it. Tender and easy to pull apart chops. Must try. Beef tongue - Supa yummy and tender Calamari Batter fry: Goan styled batter and has a Goan touch. You may try other places which are good as well but they would Continental style. Meat platter: Didn't enjoy it much Beef green masala (yumm), Pork (something...okish), Prawns masala (didn't like) and Paratha. Urak - The Goan style
To all those Goan food lovers and Not Goan cooks (who cook Goan food), you won't be disappointed. There's a lot to learn from...
