Went here post reading the reviews but we were totally disappointed. We were there on a weekend at 12.30pm...it was not crowded then.. We placed the order which was predominantly vegetarian. They not only took forever to get our food.. While serving those who came in much later but got the whole order horribly wrong... First place where they served the main course before the starters... Infact the main course Also arrived after an hour and with multiple reminders. As if that was not enough, they ran out of the goan bread which is a staple for the main course... After serving one round when we asked for a repeat, the waiter told us that it's over and we must order pao instead! I wonder what kind of inventory management they do. They seemed to be in a hurry to get us out as they had totally messed our meal. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that he doesn't come in the afternoons. Kind of surprising to let a bunch of waiters run the place, especially on a weekend! So while the food itself was good, the overall experience really spoilt the visit for us. I do hope that this was a one off or else they need to really get their...
Read moreWhat a great find in Candolim, Goa!
Soi is accessible by elevator if one walks thru SinQ. Special shoutout to kind Mr. Vikas of SinQ security, who saw my determined senior citizen mum struggling w the staircase and guided us all the way through the back and the elevator till Soi.
Finger-licking delicious food and mast cocktails! Recommend Goemkar's delight, Feni Sutra and Urrak Jungle Juice!
Sol kadi was excellent too!
Stuffed crab, stuffed bangda, Teesrya suke, fish thali and squid ambotik were all huge hits around the table. I wish they had 'mori' ambotik available... But the rest more than made up for a sumptuous luncheon.
Surprisingly not very crowded although it was a weekday and lunchtime.
Service was excellent and timely - thanks to Mr. Omkar our server, who had spot-on recommendations and guidance. Thank you!
Soi is a definite must-eat-at spot if you are in Candolim.
And yes if you are driving from Kings Villa towards Soi..be sure to also drive a bit further and gaze upon a huge and ancient Banyan Tree that's part of the Taj property just a little...
Read moreYou've got to visit this place for some delicious food. We were here for lunch on a Saturday (25-Feb-23). There was live music by an amazing singer - great vocals and choice of songs. When we got there, the place was pretty empty but it started to fill up later on.
For starters we tried the stuffed squid because we loved it at the Soi outlet at Dona Paula and wanted our friends to try it. The taste was good but we were supremely disappointed by the quantity as compared to the Dona Paula outlet. 4 measly pieces, why? Just because it's on the Candolim so over charging is acceptable? Anyway, at least it tasted just as good.
The fish thaali, tomato and bhindi curry and bhajiya basket we're all great. The Sol kadi itself deserves a special mention, especially if you like that sourness to it. The service for exceptionally slow as the afternoon progressed. The thaali which should be one of the fastest served items took more than 45 minutes.
All in alla good experience, just wish there was consistency in...
