A Flavorful Journey: Exploring Miss Margarita's Mexican Grill and Tequila Bar
As a food enthusiast always on the lookout for new culinary adventures, stepping into Miss Margarita - Mexican Grill and Tequila Bar was like entering a portal to Mexico itself. Nestled in the upscale M Block Market of GK II in Delhi, this vibrant eatery promised an authentic Mexican experience with a modern twist, courtesy of Chef Noah Barnes.
From the moment I arrived, the ambiance set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The lively atmosphere and colorful décor instantly transported me to the streets of Mexico. But it was the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared dishes that truly captured my attention.
Starting off with drinks, I opted for the Granny Smith Sour, a delightful concoction of Rosemary-infused Whiskey with Green Apple Puree, Lime, and Egg White, with a spicy kick courtesy of muddled Chili. Another standout was the Frosty The Orange, crafted with Patrón Reposado Tequila, Rosemary smoked sea salt, charred orange juice, and lime triple sec – a refreshing blend that perfectly complemented the vibrant flavors of the cuisine.
Moving on to appetizers, I indulged in the Chipotle and Feta Guacamole, a unique twist on a classic favorite, paired with homemade chips and tomato salsa. The Beer and Chipotle Lime Fish Taco Bites were a revelation, combining perfectly seasoned fish with shredded lettuce, guacamole, cilantro lime, and sour cream, all wrapped in a soft tortilla.
For a lighter option, the street style corn elotes was a delightful choice, featuring sweet corn topped with feta, spice rub, lime, and homemade acho chili mayo – a burst of flavors in every bite.
The mains did not disappoint either. The Sizzling Fajitas stole the show, served with soft tortillas, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and jalapeno. Among them, the Chili Lime Chicken Steak Fajita stood out with its bold flavors and succulent texture.
No meal is complete without dessert, and I indulged in the Classic Cinnamon Churros, served with a selection of four delectable sauces – chocolate, caramel, white chocolate, and chili chocolate – a perfect ending to an exquisite culinary journey.
Miss Margarita's commitment to using fresh ingredients and innovative marination techniques truly shines through in every dish. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the diverse culinary landscape of Mexico.
As I left Miss Margarita, my taste buds buzzing with satisfaction, I couldn't help but look forward to my next visit. Read moreOne fine evening, while I was ruing the fact that the oldest Mexican restaurant in the city shut down, a friend suggested Miss Margarita. He praised it for so long that I had to try it for myself. And boy, am I glad I did! The ambience is perfect for a date or a night out with friends. The walls bear paintings of a Mariachi band and motifs from el did de los muertos. A tad cliché but likeable. The music was awesome. In the span of a few hours, I heard classics like Guantanamera and La Cucaracha and more contemporary artists like Juanes, Shakira and Maluma. Few songs were Mexican but you get the Latin feel.
Coming to the food and drinks. I started with their Classic Lime and Pineapple-Ginger-Jalapeño Margaritas. Both of them were refreshing and packed with flavours. Try the latter if you like a hint of spice in your drinks. Then, I tried their Cheesy Jalapeño Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla, Blackened Cajun Fish Tacos, Chipotle Chicken Taco Bites and Tempura Cilantro Lime Prawn Taco. Guess who loves taquitos! The food had fresh ingredients and tongue tingling flavours. My favourites were the Quesadilla with a hint of paprika, and the Lime Prawn Taco with its crunchy prawns and pickled onions. Ended the meal with their Churros. The portions were generous and the churros, crisp. They were dusted with the right amount of sugar and cinnamon. They came with chocolate and chilli-chocolate sauces, and made for a delightful end to the meal.
The service was quick and courteous.
I had a great evening at Miss Margarita. Will visit again to try their Micheladas and...
