Azad Sweets and Restaurant — Restaurant in Gujarat

Time effects all but this place has been the same. This place situated in the busy streets of rewadi bazaar. This restaurant is very old since time of my grandfather and they also liked to went here to eat puri Shak and majoon. It's become tradition in our family that if we are going to Azad then our order will be puri Shak and majoon.

Puri Shak - Puri Shak might look full of oil but aroma of crispy puri with potato Shak is enough to enjoy this flavourful dish.

Magji Majoon - Majoon is a dry fruit and Mawa based sindhi sweet. It's too heavy and rich. Perfect dessert for winter. Azad Jake Majoon nahi khaya to kuch nahi khaya!

Food is really good but if you are looking for ambience then don't even try because there is no such thing. I came here since my childhood and I observed that once a table is empty waiters will come, clean the table, refill jug and steel box which had onion, pickle, lemon slices and green chillies. The serving staff is more decent then you expect from a place such as this.

Located in a lane off Relief Road. Beware there is a newer "Azad Sweets" before the original one. Had Puri-Shak, quite good. Pic attached. Meals can be packed (to take on the train for e.g.). Second visit Dec 2019. Had Aloo Methi, Very good, well cooked and tasty. If you are in Ahmedabad and are tired of khaman, dokhla, gujarati thali etx try this place. Pic attached. Third visit Jan 2020, yes I kind of like this place. Had Undhiyu & puri. Quite good, but different from the undhiyu available in Surat. Pic attached. Fourth visit Mar 2020. Had Aloo Bhindi Masala. V good. Bhindi and Aloo were cooked just right, aloo was buttery soft, bhindi was not over cooked. Masala was good, to my taste, not too punjent. Had Shahi Falooda, did not care too much for it. Amazingly delicious food...Perfect Puri Shaak is one of my favourites amongst other whole lot of lip smacking dishes. Super Samosa(wow...!!!) * Sunehri Sindhi Curry Chawal(tasty)** Khasta Kachori(another favourite)* Mindblowing Majoon(yummy😋)** Fresh Malai Barfi(keept asking for more...)* Chulbulle Cholle Bhature(can beat the best)* Above are few of my favourites i have been having at AZAD since my childhood days and i am happy to get the same old taste everytime i have been there. Sustaining...the years old taste and the quality is what AZAD gives an upperhand over their competition. It's always gonna be one of my favorites place to satisfy my childhood taste...
