A wonderful place that has captured the hearts of ahmedabadi foodies for years now has come up with a new menu. The executive head chef has put in his heart and soul to bring to you the very essence of dhaba style cuisine that you can enjoy sitting at their restaurant. The views and interior is as usual amazing and the seating is very comfortable. The staff very well trained.
The menu begins with a sunrise to sunset concept where you'll find dishes like upma and dosa alongside eggs Benedict and parsi akuri all prised at dhaba rates!
Next in line is the highway or my way where in you'll find dishes like the punjabi parathas and English muffins. They've covered it all for you in one place! Next are the soups which are delectable! And then comes in the super bowls which is a one meal dish kind of a concept with humongous portions. So actually you don't need anything if you're ordering a super bowl, perhaps a drink and you'll be done!
The local slides like the bunny chow and the devil chop are worth a mention! They also have a varied section for salads where in the ingredients come from the hyatt garden itself you can actually see the garden from your table if you've got one near the window! What a lovely thought!
Next in line are their delicious pizzas and pide you've got to try the pide! Be it veg or non veg! Both are equally delicious! I repeat, DO NOT MISS THE PIDE. Then you also have main course from around the world and of course Indian. Everything is cooked right with the perfect flavours. Even the cocktails are spot on! And no, I am not exaggerating.
They also have a dessert section but that requires a tad bit of finesse and that is why I have not rated the place a 5. No other complaints! Love the place and love the new menu! Go try...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The staff was unhelpful, and the food was served cold. I had number of reasons for being upset. Atmosphere was dull. It took 10 mins for servers to notice our presence. Again took 10 mins to serve water. About food, only 2 items were served hot. Starters kept in pan was damn cold and tasteless. Live counters were dead:) I mean no one was present there. After 10mins found one server and requested him pasta. Then he started looking for chef and finally after 25mins we got our pasta. Meanwhile we had completed our main course. Although pizza was in their menu but they did not serve us as there was some technical issue. We were seriously confused about what could be the technical issue in serving pizza. Asked for non veg pasta but was denied on face saying we have only veg pasta. While having main course I requested for garlic naan and Paratha which took 10 mins. By the time my naan came gravy got cold. In short that night I did not have anything hot. Desserts were also not good. Live chaat counter - ordered him one Pani Puri and one sev Puri. But I think he was competing with his colleagues and decided not to serve us. Last but not the least when we wanted to run away from the place they took 15-20 mins to give us the bill.
Feeling so bad for my friend whose birthday was ruined because of the service, the treatment and the food we got.
Paying Rs 1300 per head for such food and service is not justified. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI had a buffet dinner at Collage yesterday with my family. In short, it did not meet the expections we had about this place, being run by Hyatt. First, the price aspect. Most of the food portals mention it as Rs. 2400 for two. The actual price is Rs. 1899 + 5% Service Charge + 18% GST. So it works out as Rs. 2353 per person. This is subject to discounts - if you have any. And of course, the Service Charge is at your discretion. Then - regarding food. The options are not very encouraging for a non-vegetarian - both in terms of number and quality. The fish preparations were with basha which were bland. There was one continental preparation of chicken which was good. In indian section, there were two preparations of chicken - a spiced barbeque one and a curry. None was good enough. The chicken was a bit smelly and not very well cooked. I took two salads - both were so cold - not even room temperature - as if they were just taken out of a fridge. The veg preparations were so so. The sweet section was somewhat better. Mostly with pastries - those were good. For indian sweets - they had some milk cake kind of items which were so so. Overall, was good just for the sake of experience. But if dining means both the food and the ambience - there's a lot to improve on the food part of it - if they really...
