Fozzie's Pizzaiolo has rich and elegant options with a great ambience and lively interior. It offers variety of Pizzas, Salads, Sandwiches, Gnocchi, Penne, Spaghetti, Lasagna, Ravioli, Risotto etc. To end your meal, sumptuous mouth watering deserts are on the menu. A perfect treat for all veg/non-veg foodies! The highlight is the first ever Charcoal Fired Pizzas in Ahmedabad.FOZZIE'S PIZZAIOLO has perched itself atop everyone's list when it comes to serving one of the most scrumptious pizzas that Amdavadis have ever dug into. What started off as a takeaway has now cultivated into an astounding eatery below Dasaprakash, opp Rajpath Club.
If you are an Amdavadi and if you love pizza, then you definitely would've tried the Heavenly Charcoaled Fired Pizza that 25 year old Parth Fozdar offers but, this new niche hub is not only about pizza. The menu features an array of lasagnas, pastas, bread bites, anti-pastis (starters) and lip-smacking desserts.
There are a lot of things working towards making Fozzie's Pizzaiolo a success. Firstly, their décor. What makes the décor of this eatery extremely interesting is that there is no unnecessary 'huss-fuss-glitter' to it. Natural light pours in through an entire facade highlighting the simple hues of green are plastered on the walls, with a bunch of frames in one segment and a bunch of the books in the other; an entire area is designated to the display of openers that Parth & his family have collected over 12 years, giving a very personal touch to it.
Secondly and more importantly, their high standards of service along-with good food with strict quality controls, use of fresh produce and presentation skills. No wonders when it comes to that segment, since Parth has worked as a chef at one of the most exquisite fine dine restaurants in Switzerland and a head chef at Silver Sands Holiday Resort, Goa.
With high expectations, our particular evening at the 5 day old eatery started with their BLACK EYED POTATO; Sublime taste apart, the name is extremely apropos to their presentation since the Grilled & Seared Potatoes are topped with sour cream and black olives, thus the 'Black Eye'. Another great option is CHIPPZIES, which essentially is Pizza Chips which pairs phenomenally well with a Light Layered Dip. Fozzie's also offers two varieties of BRUSCHETTAS; A regular one which has Tomatoes, Basil, Red & Yellow Bell Peppers, gratinated with lovely Parmeson and a MUSHROOM BRUSCHETTA which offers the marinated taste of mushroom slices with Black Olives & Parmesan.
Off their Bread Bites, we tried the LATINA PANINI which offered a wonderful stuffing of Guacamole, Grilled Onions, Tomato and Lettuce, served with piping hot Fries. For non-veg fanatics they have also featured a PORKY PORK PANINI that has Crispy Bacon, Pepperoni, Cream Cheese, Honey Mustard & lettuce as well as a GRILLED CHICKEN PANINI that has Herbed Grilled Chicken with Home-made Sauce, lettuce and a Slice of Cheese. Their SPAGHETTI POMODORO is also worth a mention for the Spaghetti with tomato concasse, accompanied by Cheese Balls (Meat is also an option) is orgasmic to the palette. The AGLIO E OLIO - a serving of Penne Pasta tossed in Olive Oil, Basil, Herbs, Black Olives, Tomatoes and Red Bell Pepper is apt for a sporadic set of taste buds.
Their Pizzas? I don't really need to pinpoint as to what pizza you should opt for because the diversity is such that all of them have varying toppings and none of them seem to disappoint. May it be the 'NO MISTAKE' Pizza with Fresh Bell Peppers, Green & Black olives, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Jalapeños, Onions or the 'MR. BEAN' Pizza which is a harmony of Mexican toppings with an Italian classic; A topping of an array of chicken cuts that make the 'COLD CUT' Pizza or Spinach & Caramelized Onions which make their new addition of a 'SWEET TONGUE' Pizza; not only they taste amazing, top it off with garlic olive oil that they specially makes, you will transcend your palette to an entire...
Read moreAmbience: Really good with outdoor as well as indoor seating. Everything about decor catches your eye and is surely Instagram worthy! They have several board games and a book rack too. You can go here with family as well as friends.
Service: Absolutely courteous and polite staff. Serving time is quick enough.
Food: I used to love this place when it started around 3 years back. I first tasted their food when they made the most delicious Pizza cake for my birthday on a special order by my friends. We also got their pizzas for a take away later. They were equally good. However, my visits after they expanded and moved to the first floor haven't been like what I expected.
We ordered enchiladas and two pizzas, 'She's the one' and 'Quatro Formaggi'. She's the one clearly won our hearts with the crunchy wafers. Quatro Formaggi was decent but Enchiladas were disappointing.
In our next visit, we ordered two pizzas - 'Sour cream Pizza' and 'ACTC' and a Classic Dutch Fondue. ACTC was perfectly flavoured spicy and creamy. I found Sour cream Pizza a bit bland for my taste. The Classic Dutch Fondue was extremely disappointing. The key preparation of the dish, cheese sauce had a really unpleasant taste. The breads were not fresh, we asked them to replace the breads with extra potato wedges and at last finished off by eating the wedges without cheese sauce. Never order this one. We also ordered Choco blast, Oats and mixed berries and nutty banana smoothie. Nutty Banana had powdered nuts instead of the whole nuts which would make it crunchy. It tasted like flour and ruined the taste of the banana. Mixed berries and oats was decent while choco blast was a good and safe option. Lesson learnt: This place is only for Pizzas. Do not order anything except for Pizzas...
Read moreWe visited this place on a Sunday evening - 2 adults and 2 kids. Reached at around 930pm and got a table immediately.
The staff was very courteous and got us seated straightaway. Since it was a Sunday evening, we expected the food to take longer than usual.
Ordered - Greek Salad, Mr. Patata, Cheesy Garlic fries, No Mistake pizza and Ravioli.
The ravioli in Alfredo sauce ordered for the kids was just what the kids wanted - lots of cheese and good tasting ravioli. The salad was also good, though the portion size was a bit on the smaller side. Mr. Patata tasted nice and was served with a dip that went well with it.
However, the pizza was a major letdown. It was brought to the table after almost 45 minutes and it was served cold. The delay can be understood - but serving it so cold is just inexplicable. i have been a fan of pizzas from this place, they've been delivered in a hotter state that what they brought to our table last evening.
The cheesy garlic fries were also cold by the time they got to the table.
The reason you go to a restaurant is to get served hotter food than what you get delivered from the same place. Guess it works the other way around with Fozzies.
Dont know what went wrong. Will keep getting food delivered, though dining in was not such a...
