While traveling to Surat, I had my share of doubts about finding good coffee. After trying 5 different cafes, I had almost given up the hope of finding that perfect cup. Thatâs when I decided to try one last place out - The Flat White Coffee House.
Even before you try your first cup of coffee here, youâll notice how it doesnât look like a commercial shop but like a house. As you enter, youâre welcomed by the aroma of coffee brewing inside. Sitting around this house are the Master Craftsmen, Dhaval and Krishna along with their little community of coffee aficionados in Surat.
Dhaval is absolutely crazy about coffee. He could talk about it all day long if you can listen. If youâre passionate about coffee, heâll patiently listen to your interest and taste and deliver coffee a few notches better than you expect. As you fall in love with his coffee, he will take you on an experience to broaden your coffee knowledge and expose you to flavors you might not have expected.
I would sit at the bar listen to him entertaining his little community of passionate coffee lovers. He knows a lot but is eager to learn even more. Always sharing and closely listening. No attitude despite being a master.
There is a bit of food. I couldnât get to the food at all because I was hypnotized by the coffee itself.
Looking back, Iâm happy I decided to try this place and took the time to chat up with this magical couple who is years ahead of the rest of the city.
Hats off to both of you for making this magical place. I finally have a place I love to visit when Iâm Surat apart from meeting my parents.
My best wishes.

All the patisseries items on the menu are hand written, which indicates a freshly set and made fashion to make those delicacies.
The coffee are nice, not much aroma but the flavor is a good balance of bitterness and acidity. The barista makes sure what kind of flavor we want. There are regular or oat milk here, so if you are lactose intolerant, you have an alternative. We ordered two bread accompanied our coffee - sourdough cucumber toast and bagel sandwich. The sourdough toast is perfect. The only thing I feel it can be improved is the bagel. Just feel the flour of the bagel could be chewier, it was too fluffy as a bagel.
Oh it is also pet friendly, so it is a nice place to enjoy with your dog in the backyard garden if the place is not too crowded and...
Read moreFlatWhite has become one of my absolute favorite spots. I love their cappuccino, banana bread, avocado toast, and hummus with pita, these are my go-to orders every time I visit! Everything tastes fresh, comforting, and consistently good. Itâs also one of my favorite places to work from. The vibe is quiet, cozy, and relaxed, perfect for getting things done or just taking a slow break. The only small downside is the low network for calls, but honestly, that almost adds to the charm because it keeps the space peaceful and calm. Thereâs just something about FlatWhite that keeps drawing me back, the warmth, the coziness, and the great food. Highly recommend if youâre looking for a calm cafĂ© to unwind...
