Don't visit!!! Creepy guy alert! Bad service!!
I was so thrilled to try this place. Having lived in South India, I crave for dosa sometimes and when I saw this place on the way I thought of giving it a try. I tried Dosa, idli and wada. Sad to say, I was extremely disappointed with dosa, the chutneys were bad, the idly was not good as well, the Wada was so thick and didn't taste good. But somehow the place is full of customers( I believe, if someone has not eaten good south indian food they will never know how bad it was!!!)
The most important point-
The order was getting delayed so I went to check at the counter. There was a waiter standing who was checking me out and staring at me down the neck.I avoided giving him a look!!! When I was talking to counter person that creepy waiter said' did you even buy a coupan?". I replied, obviously, without buying a coupon why would I ask if my dosa was ready or not? At this he started staring at me and kept staring as if I have messed with his ego. When he came to serve the dosa, he was trying to touch my hand 2-3 times. This was the worst experience for me.
There was no handwash at the basin so I asked for the same. The owner told me to wait. We waited for 10 mins but no handwash came. I asked again and again to bring the handwash but nobody...
Read moreI might be termed wrong after so many positive reviews by general public, but it’s my personal experience.
Taste: As I have lived most of my professional life (in Indian Navy) in south, the taste presented by Anna is NOT at all authentic South Indian. My friend from Coimbatore clearly told she will not go here as it spoils taste. The vegetables and condiments are clearly missing in the Sambhar.
Hygiene: Poor. They must be cleaning while opening the shop. Litter of napkins, bits of dosa, spillage of sambhar everywhere. A fly (mothfly) crashed near my sambhar bowl! Why the owner don’t put ultra violet fly catcher?
Decor and Ambience: It’s just a open shop. No sitting arrangements whatsoever. It’s self service. But price of dosa/idli is like that only.
Wait time: Wait time is 15 minutes approx. Staff manages one big tawa who handles 5-6 dosa in one go.
Price: The price of food items is low. Had the price been higher, the expectations to the taste atleast would become higher.
Parking: No parking. It’s next to wine shop and a chap corner.
Recommendation: If you prefer “actual” South Indian taste and ready to spend for ambience, taste, Decor, seatings, servings, then you can try Karnatic Cafe at 32 mile stone nearby. Don’t go crazy assuming just by name sounds South Indian , it’s...
Read moreAnna Dosa Corner is the right place for fellow Dosa lovers 😍. Its front cooking section is a real treat to see the talented chefs in action —making a variety of delicious dosas.
The shop has a token slip system. It keeps the line moving efficiently and ensures that the food is hot and fresh when it is served.
The variety of dosas available is truly impressive – from chilly garlic dosa to butter masala dosa – there is something for everyone.
But what always stands out to me is the taste!! The dosas are extremely delicious and the red spicy chutney is my personal favorite. The sambhar is also extremely rich in flavor and perfectly complements the dosa.
Overall, I highly recommend Anna Dosa Corner to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic dosa experience in sector 15, Gurgaon, or nearby.
On a rating of 5, I would give Anna Dosa Corner:
