PET UNFRIENDLY PEOPLE WATCH AND THINK BEFORE GOING.
Hey AIPL Joy Blue Tokai team,
I'd highly encourage you folks to move away from being a pet friendly cafe. Your thought is great but a not all pet owners understand the responsibility of carrying their pets to such places where there are non-per friendly, people with allergies to animals etc. are also there. Or do you folks want only pet friendly folks to be your guests?
I visited your cafe today with my husband, to spend some time together. But a couple walked in from door, I didn't even know as I was facing the other side, and their dog literally jumped and licked my elbow from back, while also his teeth touching my elbow. The dog was not on leash, as the owners were at least 6-8 feet away from me. I was in a state of shock and .
I don't hate pets but I cannot be physically close to them. The owners said sorry, but the lick with teeth touch was appalling for me. And bonus the owners continued to hysterically shouting as if I was the one at fault. The dog was uncontrollable and the owners were rather bullying us commenting in Hindi. It was such a bad experience for me at least, I won't be able to return to your cafe. I am still in shock of the whole experience.
I do acknowledge that you folks as Blue Tokai team were humble and concerned, thanks for that.
But I hope such an instance never repeats, so be super clear in your instructions at entry. Or best is do not allow pets in such a small place. It could be a horrifying experience for folks who are not...
Read moreBlue Tokai at Joy Street Aipl has excellent staff. I want to mention chef Yogesh who is now service staff, he is one of the best there, Kanahaiya ji is very good. All the staff is very lovely. Recently aate pesto pasta made by chef Pilot - it was yummy. Food I must say has stayed consistent and the staff will also customise your order if you ask them. For a small place this place surely has some great people and some great food. Opening of this Blue Tokai in my neighbourhood has certainly come with a blessing - love the informal setting with some great food and coffee ( please ask for the brew and beans you want from the coffee connoisseur there). Their smoked chicken salad is a wonderful example of them not just throwing meagre pieces of chicken into the salad but making it sumptuous delish and filling. The signature Suchali croissanta & breads are just amazing. Love the place and my family and I keep coming back to this particular blue tokai despite many new branches around is purely because of the staff. The only drawback is the shortage of space and table and many times I have had to go else where because it does get...
Read moreI visited this place after reading so much about the place on social media as how an Indian coffee startup is making a name for itself.
Interiors and ambience : I would say the interiors was pretty exquisite and provided a blend of Indian and western touch.
Food and drinks: food was nothing less than horrible. The bread in scrambled egg chicken toast was too rough and hard to even chew. The pancakes were too moist and no way closer to the fluffy pancakes that we usually get to eat at other cafés. The coffee was okay.
When I asked the staff to provide me the feedback form, he politely responded that we don’t have any such forms in the cafe. I found it a bit surprising though that they have invested so much in the interiors and marketing but won’t care about taking customers feedback.
In all, a disappointing experience and I never plan to visit or order something...
