The food is good and the overall ambience is inviting as well. The only grouse I have constantly had with all laidback cafe outlets is that they keep imposing service charge on the bill even though it is not allowed as per law. They do agree to remove it when pushed but not before suggesting that they will offer a discount on the bill instead to make up for the service charge instead of removing the service charge. I wonder why they will resort to such means instead of not adding the service charge in the first place. I had to literally ask the waiter that if I see the bill with service charge, I will report it to the consumer affairs ministry. Only then did the waiter get the bill revised.

Dear Laidback cafe team...you have a good product. Please dont spoil it by unnecessarily pushing customers to have such arguements after they have had a visit to your cafes. If you do want to pay the staff a share of the bill, you can do that anyway by increasing the menu price. No one is stopping you. Actually that applies to the whole restaurant industry.
