We recently visited Pirates of Grill with a group of 35 people, hoping for a good experience. What we got instead was a frustrating mix of ignorance, mismanagement, and unprofessional service.
Although we had a confirmed booking, the staff seemed completely unprepared to handle a group of our size. The restaurant follows a strict two-hour time-bound service model, which might be manageable—if they actually served efficiently. Food was served just once, and after that, most of the staff simply vanished. Despite several people still waiting to eat or get refills, there was little to no response from the team.
A particularly shocking moment came when we noticed that the cutlery provided was not clean. We politely asked the waiters multiple times to replace them. After being ignored, we approached the manager directly. His response? A casual and dismissive "So what?"—as if hygiene and guest experience were of no concern. That kind of attitude is completely unacceptable, especially from someone in a management role.
To top it all off, just as we were finally getting some food, we were abruptly asked to vacate our seats because our slot had ended. So essentially:
They take your booking
Delay and mismanage service
Ignore genuine requests
And then ask you to leave the moment your slot is over—even if you’ve barely been served.
The name Pirates of Grill might sound appealing, but after this experience, Pirates of Money would be more accurate. They seem more interested in turning tables than serving guests.
Before visiting, I strongly suggest reading other reviews—you’ll see a consistent pattern of disappointment and poor service. Sadly, our experience only confirmed what many others have...

Read moreFood was excellent. However, my wife tried the kathal starter which was cooked in mustard oil and immediately had to face an emergency as the kathal piece must've soaked in a fair bit of oil and unknowingly my wife ingested it all as she took a bite. The acute pungency of the oil made her throat and the food pipe burn and she was about to collapse. In this panic, I seeked help from the service staff and to my astonishment, they took the situation very lightly and even after several attempts to get cold water and ice, I had to personally rush at their bar to fetch it myself. After feeling a but stable, my wife went out for fresh air and it took a good 30 mins for her to feel good enough to be back at the table. Meanwhile, I checked with the chef who was around and let him know the situation. He dismissed my claims that there might be a bit of a problem with the dish. I also explained this to the floor manager and he apologized for the bad experience(including some fake assurances that this instance will be taken seriously). My issue was that the staff who were attending our table, were joking around at the plight of my wife which was sickening. Sometimes, it is the little things that matter. And this restaurant failed to react the way a truly hospitable place should and at the end of the mixed dining experience when we were leaving, there was sense of relief from the staff (perhaps emitting the "good riddance" feeling) and us too as this didn't lead us to the hospital doors.
Hence the 2 star review based on the incident and the inability of the service staff to react appropriately.
The food was still excellent if you...
