Best to not visit after 8 pm.
I have been to pots and stones twice. The first time was a remarkable experience. The second time was exactly the opposite.
Ambience: Ambience and decor of the place is the only redeeming feature of this place. The ground floor has ample seating while the first floor has a pool table, a snooker table and a fussball table, along with two dining tables and outdoor seating in the attached balcony.
The arrangement of the fussball table leaves much to be desired as the placement is less than ideal. You are left with either improper lighting or with the option of disturbing the peace and quiet of those dining next to the fussball table. If you shift the table to a better location, you can expect to collide with those playing snooker or blocking the door of the balcony. If you move it still further you run the risk of running into dimwit waiters who insist on moving it back to its earlier location, the aforementioned problems notwithstanding.
Service: 0/5. The waiters are not knowledgeable about the menu. They lack basic courtesies and it gets worse after 8 pm. They forgot to serve us water. The food service is slow, and the food not worth the wait. The staff was discourteous in general.
Food: 1/5. On my first visit I had ordered a salad which turned out to be just fine. The coffee is okay, it doesn't disappoint but nothing spectacular either.
The mocktails and fruit shakes are all made from syrup and thus not worth your money.
The teas abd tisanes are all dip affairs, not brewed from leaves.
On my second visit I ordered the following:
Green Thai curry with rice: Lacked the punch of green curry, the rice were undercooked, the meat stale. Risotto: the bread slices were so hard I mistook them for rusks. They were definitely stale. The risotto too felt stale, the milk or cream used were not fresh. Chicken Tikka Pizza: the base was a ready made, not freshly baked. The cheese was stale, the toppings were from an era bygone. The cheese had not fused properly with the base and the base was clearly undercooked despite being a ready-made. This after the fact that it took them 35 mins to deliver the pizza.
The washroom was clean and separate for the genders.
Pricing: 1000 for two with food and drinks. Value for money: 0.5/5
I am not visiting again. Woodpecker is hands down the best evening restaurant in the city, they have maintained their quality and class for...

A lot have been changed in this cafe, Price increased drastically and quality and quantity is compromised.
It hit very hard after being a loyal customer of cafe, the behaviour of manager and staff is changed.
After introduction of new chef, the quality of food became WoW to Okeish.
The creamyness from hot drinks vanished. Totally disappointed as it happened within one year.
Support if it you also felt the same.
P.S: No grudges about cafe, just a genuine review.
————————————————————— Old comment (2024) / full rating 5/5 : Café is located in the city center / heart of Haldwani, I prefer this café for its serene ambiance and cozy atmosphere. Outdoor seating arrangements are perfect for relaxing vibes.
A heart full of thanks to owner and manager of the cafe. Lot’s of their hospitality, the quality of food, and the pleasant atmosphere of the café. It might seem mean to let you know that my regular visit to the café with friends or family shows the patronage, respect, support and appreciation.
On personal level I would like to leave a note for the management and service staff. You guys are awesome 👏, kudos to all the staff members.
I would bow down to the knowledge and skills of Barista for preparing the quality of the drink they prepared. The level of efforts and love they put are really mind blowing. I met Mr. Roshan and thanked him for his experience to make such relaxing coffee. I personally recommend Café Mocha to all.

Read moreHad been thinking of visiting the Cafe quite often. Visited today and my observations are as under : Location : On the Nainital road adjacent to Brij Lal Hospital. Approach : Very accessible. The only doubt about parking for a four wheeler was dispelled on enquiry, as it is part of the sister concern North House Hotel and ample parking space is available. Interior : Very tastefully yet simply furnished with comfortable chairs/tables and a practical assortment of dining accessories laid out on the table without over cluttering. Food : i) The Mushroom Soup was one of the best I have ever tasted. In fact the toasted bread instead of bread sticks or croutons was a pleasant change. ii) The Chilly Chicken accompanied by a side of noodles was very good though the onion content was a trifle overdone. Ambience & Atmosphere : If you're looking for a great meal in a quiet atmosphere with decent folks around, look no further. Staff : Very well behaved and extremely courteous.
All in all, a definitely Must Visit place - I wonder how I did not come across it sooner.
Visited on 01/12 for a quick bite. As usual the mushroom soup was excellent as were the grilled chicken sandwiches. A larger crowd was observed suggesting that 1500 to 1600 is busy time.
