Given dining services were not available the entire menu was not available for ordering , eventually since we were having food in the car and were also in a bit of a rush ended up ordering a veg burger , a chicken fillet burger and coffee. Burgers were fine , the chicken was a little too crispy from the outside rather than it being soft which took off from the taste a bit , but given that this is Shimla and easily available items like burgers, hot dogs are not available as freely and with as many varieties and choices as in Delhi i was fairly ok. Coffee was fine too , nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about either.
I am sure that sit in dining would definitely up the experience with this place as the dining area is very cosy with a very nice sit out as well. I can say that this is a repeat haunt for a few people i know and given that clearly there is something on offer here and i hope to visit again soon.
Its a bit pricey , close to 500 for 2 coffees and 2 simple burgers but then thats shimla for you, many might find the way cheaper burgers available at the multiple bakeries on mall road to be much for VFM and in some cases even more tasty.
UPDATE - Since writing the review dining services have opened up. A nice quiet place, very cosy and for me the best option to sit is the covered balcony outside especially now when it has started to get cold. Have been there 3 times and sat outside twice. Disposables are still being used across which is good.
Lots of young people and couples.. Its clearly a favourite as a place for dating. :-)
Food continues to be as i mentioned but was dissappointed with the Chinese we tried recently.. Huge portions but the pieces were very big.. Almost cumbersome to eat and will be a nightmare to reheat if taking back home. Also given the size I suspect that the taste that could have been achieved was not. Won't be unfortunately ordering Chinese here again. 4 dishes cost about 1200 which is fine but better options on mall road such as chungfa, dimsum etc.
Do definitely try the beaten hot coffee when you go. Absolutely delicious.
Rating unchanged. Seating positive but...

The vibe of the place is casual and welcoming. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but it’s clean, cozy, and has a chill atmosphere. Whether you want to grab a quick bite between classes or sit with friends for a relaxed meal, Buddy’s offers a comfortable space to do both.
What makes this spot stand out is the variety on the menu. From Chinese items like Hakka noodles and momos to Indian-style pizzas and spicy street food snacks, everything is full of flavor. Their Chicken Tikka Pizza and Honey Chilli Potatoes are favorites for a reason. The prices are also quite affordable—great value for money.
Staff members are polite and usually quick, though service can slow down during rush hours. Despite that, most people don’t mind waiting because the food is worth it.
In short, Buddy’s Food Joint is a simple, no-frills eatery that delivers big on taste. It’s not about luxury dining—it’s about good food, fair prices, and a place where you feel at ease. If you’re in or around Sanjauli, it’s definitely worth a visit for a casual and...
Read moreI am a regular visitor of buddy for last 6 years SNS I have seen the changes this restaurant has undergone for last fe years. Today i got really disappointed with the food they offered viz-viz the over hiked prices of food. They offered a thin crest poorly cooked pizza and very less quantity pasta in a small bowl. When it did not satisfy us , I ordered sandwitch and coffee. It surprised me when they offered a sandwitch with a foul smell paneer chunks that we could not take even a single bite. The coffee really disaster, it was made of a canned milk and the taste was really bad . After paying 1300 rs for one pizza , one pasta and three coffee, I realised that , it was total waste of money , time and mood. I strongly recommend people not to go to this restaurant. Buddy is no...
