Café Under Tree, perched at a breathtaking 8,000 ft in Shimla, stands as a majestic haven for food and views. As Shimla's highest restaurant, it offers a dining experience that's nothing short of splendid.
While the menu isn't vast, it's intriguing in its own right. We followed the chef's recommendation and were treated to the heavenly Himalayan Tribe Pizza and the utterly juicy Tree Special Fruit Punch. It was a flavor explosion! For those craving a caffeine kick, the Cold Coffee is a perfect choice. If you're watching your calories, opt for the healthful Tree Special Green Tea.
The views from this vegan cafe are unparalleled and make for some truly Instagram-worthy moments. The staff is as warm as the tea they serve, and chatting with the owners about the place and its offerings is a delight. Café Under Tree is the ultimate spot to relax, especially after a visit to the must-see Jakhu Hanuman temple.
The café's décor is awe-inspiring, constructed entirely from robust deodar wood, down to the light fixtures. It's a visual and sensory treat.

Tucked near the famous Shree Lord Hanuman Temple in Jakhu, Shimla, Cafe Under the Tree is the highest diner in the region, perched at an altitude of 8000 ft. This 100% vegan restaurant is a hidden gem offering a serene atmosphere and an unmatched valley view ideal for a relaxing post-temple stop.
The cafe serves global vegetarian and vegan cuisines including Indian, Asian, and Continental dishes. Their pasta stands out for its rich flavor and perfect texture. While the menu promises variety from breakfast to brunch and dinner the real charm lies in the ambiance. The large windows open to snow-covered pine trees, creating a calming forest vibe.

One major concern is the pricing of essential items. A single water bottle costs ₹60, which is unreasonable. The café should stock regular, affordable brands (like ₹20 options), especially since water is a basic need for every traveler.
Despite its serene setting and interesting concept, the management needs to improve service speed, order handling, and pricing of necessities. Visit for the view and vegan options, but be...
