Cafe Offbeats — Restaurant in Himachal Pradesh

The café, tucked away in the hills, had a lot going for it when I first walked in. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with cozy wooden décor that perfectly matched the natural beauty outside. Live music filled the air, adding a relaxing touch that made the setting feel serene and ideal for a getaway. But unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the charm of the place.

I ordered an Oreo shake, hot chocolate pancakes, and a lemonade, hoping for something special. The Oreo shake was disappointing—thin, watery, and lacking the creamy richness you’d expect. It felt more like diluted milk with a weak attempt at an Oreo flavor.

The hot chocolate pancakes were another letdown. Instead of being soft and fluffy, they were dry and dense. The hot chocolate drizzle, which should’ve been the highlight, was clumpy and barely warm, with none of the indulgent chocolate taste I was looking forward to.

Even the lemonade, something as basic as it gets, was overly sweet and tasted artificial. It seemed like it had come from a powder mix rather than freshly squeezed lemons, which was especially disappointing given the fresh, crisp mountain air around us.

While the live music, ambiance, and décor were all fantastic, the food and service left much to be desired. Loud live music is what attracted us among the many surrounding competitors!

Cafe 1987 has a simple vibe and good food. It is located on the Old Manali Road where the Old Manali Market is located while going to Manu Temple.

The ambiance is friendly and fun. A cute small place you can visit once. Smoking is allowed inside the cafe.

The food was pretty decent and so was the hot beverages.

The live band Swar was playing amazing songs to go long with your food.

Only concern was the washroom. It was a bit shady and...

Worst experience ever had in any cafe ..food is overpriced as compared to quality!! They are charging around 500 for a pizza and it's base is not freshly cooked normal readymade pizza base is used here!! In pasta they are not using even green capsicum or any cheese!! And please stay alert...
