Lunch for a celebration. We are occasional to regular clients for the ambience, great food and beer and live Deejay evenings which are a lot of fun, no matter what your age! I always appreciate and enjoy the ambience and admire the polite and courteous staff, though the washrooms are sadly AS USUAL in quite a pathetic condition as noted on many occasions. Beats me why the management cannot maintain cleanliness, especially when the rest overall is so nice! Another point, it may be legally permissible to vape indoors, but some people are badly allergic to it, especially in a closed indoor environment, besides the fact that the chemicals in it are perhaps more harmful than the smoking that takes place in the smoking section and watching staff members group around to take long drags and exhale cloying white smoke all around isn't exactly an encouraging sight in a restaurant meant for families, kids, seniors etc. in my point of view! A bit of a fall in style and professionalism... Well, besides that, pretty good food and service in general, and we ordered vegetarian food: Dum Aloo, an excellent lentil/dal and a cottage cheese/paneer dish besides some snacks and cocktails which were all excellent. The main dishes arrive complete with rice, breads, nans, missi rotis etc. The team in the kitchen is good and the food is a reflection. Then, we made the mistake of ordering dessert, after much deliberation we settled on a creamy Apricot dessert, which was rather disappointing, even though it looked delicious and the first layer did actually contain, hold your breath, THREE slivers of Apricot! The rest was basically a creamy pudding with lots and lots and lots of BREAD. Perhaps it should be called Creamy BREAD SLICES dessert with a hint of apricot instead, otherwise it is misleading. You don't get what you order or expect in this particular case. We fished and fished inside the bowl, but there was loads of cream and bread and NO apricots, except for the garnish! Communicated to the sweet chef, hoping they will change the name or provide what's listed. So, the end note was disappointing and end notes are extremely important in customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The Brew Estate is in an enviable location on the Ridge, up a flight of steps just 20m behind Christ Church, the premier landmark of Shimla. The plush interiors belie the drab grey unappealing building in which it is located. The property, designed like a pub-lounge has a variety of seating ranging from comfy sofas to bar stools. The main dining area is in a large hall, with an adjoining hall with some views of Shimla south of the Ridge. There's a smoking room as well. The draught beer is of four varieties and you're offered a tasting before ordering. The in-house Brew No.1 tastes yuck, but the Rocky Road brew I ordered was rich in taste, with a malty, slightly burnt taste, that reminded me of Guiness. The food menu was pricey, competes with the priciest in Bombay and Delhi. The only jarring thing wa was the billing. Luckily, I read the bill in the dim light. It had a service charge of 10% plus GST on that, so I skipped the tip. I didn't find it mentioned anywhere that a sevice charge is included. It should be displayed prominently at the entrance. There are good chances that people who are sozzled or in a group, miss seeing the service charge and end up paying a further 10% trip. I'd suggest if you go, please do check the very confusing bill carefully.

A decent place for some fine beer and cozy environment. Ideal place to hangout with friends. Just the live music they play is a bit too amateur and with poor sound setup most of the times. And the food they serve is too overpriced for the quality and quantity they serve. Else, the location and staff is also nice. This place was better in its initial days, but they've compromised a lot in terms of food quality and reservation system, as they only give priority to tourist groups. They have recently started to give tourists more preference than local guests, as they have started "Cover Charge" system on weekends & holidays. This ensures that only tourists & large groups are accommodated, resulting in more sale per table. And even if you'd pay them cover charge, most of the times they'll tell you that their best tables are "reserved", so you'll have to eventually settle for a table which is either small in size or it is located at unfavorable parts of the bar. Hope the management improves on this, else these kinds of experiences would be taken into consideration by the customers if a competitor brewery is opened soon enough.

It’s always nice experience in Brew State Shimla. I usually go there to spend quality time and enjoy good food. Overall staff is good but service staff needs to be more professional. Service staff needs to communicate guest’s request to the chef without any failure but in our case this did not happen which is disappointed. Choice of food selection on the menu is amazing. Special thanks to Chef Vipin he was courteous enough to come over on our table and made sure that food is good and after that he prepared our next order as per our recommendation and that was something commendable. One thing, at least during day music volume can be reduced because it makes difficult to communicate with others. In total it’s worth visiting Brew Estate and it is one of the restaurants in Shimla which I visit more oftenly.👏

Impressive place on an evening as it has a very cool bar vibe, with quite loud western rap/hip-hop/pop music on a good sound system. Felt a bit like a bar in the UK and the prices were similar too! 2000 rupees for a main dish and drink each, 2 people. The food was good but I don't think it has to be quite that expensive. It is, however offering a very cool vibe and a luxurious atmosphere compared to a lot of places in the area. Service charge is automatically added to the receipt and some foods/drinks have extra tax which I didn't see on the menu. Homebrew beer was tasty! Waiters were a bit too relaxed but were very polite and helpful when we managed to get their attention. If you want to treat yourself to a cool and different experience, and try good beer, this is the place.

First look of the microbrewery and pub is pretty good. It feels true to the style and is well kept. Tried the beers - 4 were available - Mango Ale, Cider, Red Ale and IPA. The cider is my favourite because it's super refreshing and if I am not wrong it had a touch of some spice which made it superior to the others I have tried here in Shimla. IPA was pretty decent and Red Ale was good as well. We ordered the Kuro Shrimps which were so well done. I was particularly amazed at the perfectly cooked shrimps. The coating is tempura maybe with some charcoal. Overall it isa great dish for prawn/shrimp lovers! Our server - Hansraj did a fantastic job and host - Neha made us feel very comfortable here. If you come to Shimla and are a craft beer lover, this should be on your list
